Zomba has dropped Opeth

^ i dont think Mikael would sign on to any label that would cramp his writing; it just aint gonna happen

Why the hell does the band get dropped from a new label after almost every album? Are the record labels and distros that fucking STUPID?

What I wonder is what happens to the publishing rights of all the stuff they recorded under MFN? Do those belong to Zomba now? (I have no idea how all that legal crap works really)

"Eternal Soul Torture" is actually okay in my opinion... maybe because it's not as loud in the beginning, and I can pick up on the parts that ended up in "Advent." Still, totally ruins the mood.

"Into the Frost of Winter" on the other hand is fucking awful. The unexpected outro of "The Apostle in Triumph" creates a strange lasting impression... then you hear this loud, incoherent clatter.

While the bonus tracks on My Arms Your Hearse are pretty good... they still ruin the mood of what may be Opeth's most powerful ending. Everytime I listen to an mp3 of "Epilogue", I've actually come to always expect the piano intro of "Circle of the Tyrant"... I wish I hadn't grown accustomed to it.

Anyway, yeah... I wouldn't mind if they went to Peaceville... they actually did a nice job with the Still Life re-release, unlike the cheap Candlelight and Music for Nations Records.

What about The End record label? I don't think they are mean to their bands :err:

Maybe Nuclear blast...or maybe that wouldn't work
