2013 NHL Thread

Possibly. Does McLeod have a history? He didn't leave his feet or lead with an elbow, and the puck was right there. If Kronwall turns towards the net, that doesn't happen. McLeod was skating hard to make a play on the puck and didn't have much time to react, considering Kronwall changing course like that. And this happened two minutes into the game, so that's basically a 1 game ban on the spot.

I don't have an axe to grind with Kronwall either. Hawks-Wings games have been very clean over the past few years, so I haven't personally seen anything particularly dirty. I usually can count on Vancouver and Anaheim to play like thugs though.

Outside of Perry, Anaheim doesn't really have any thugs.

Bertuzzi was only here for 1 season, and Parros really never did much. They had a thug attitude when they had Pronger, etc., but since they one the Cup, they've gotten further away from that mentality. The rest of the league stills thinks they're a bunch of thugs because the rest of the league doesn't watch the West at all.

I should re-evaluate when I see the Ducks in action this season.

I have a feeling that the Sharks jump to the top of the goon list if Raffi Torres is getting minutes there.

Edit: Who am I kidding, the Canucks are always tops. The Sedins cry together in tandem while Edler and Burrows are simultaneously the dirtiest players and biggest pussies in the league. Luongo fits them perfectly.

For the record, I hated when the Hawks paid/played Carcillo and John Scott. They added nothing on the ice, and certainly didn't stop teams from trying to beat up Toews and Kane.

Kronwall deserves it.

You're a nut. Deserved it? Ugly hit as fuck. He was clearly hunting Kronwall and planed to hit him from behind, wouldn't matter which way Kronwall would have been skating. One small step at the side and he could still hit him from behind. Sometimes I wonder what's wrong with some people...

I bet if the hit was on Kimmo Timonen or Sami Salo, you'd be like "yep, deserves it".

Nope, I'm not defending Kronwall because he's a Swede, but because of that was a ugly hit. And saying that he deserved it is wrong in so many levels. I can only say one single damn player that deserves it and that is Matt Cooke. Geez...

I'm not saying he deserves to die, I'm just saying he deserves a little bit of his own medicine. The hit wasn't that bad, just a boarding call that probably wouldn't have been called 10 years ago. It wasn't Bertuzzi 2.0

Own medicine? Kronwall's hits are clean and a smart way to do it. The hit wasn't that bad? lol. Yeah concussion from boarding and hitting from behind in full speed. You're probably right..

Kronwall leaves his feet to make hits, and he elbows from time to time. His hits are sometimes late, too. If you don't believe me, I'll gladly link you to some youtube videos of such.

The hit wasn't clean of course, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Maxim Lapierre made a similar (dirtier) hit the other day. Kronwall will probably only miss a game or two, if he even misses any at all.

Kronwall leaves his feet after the hit because of the force. Subban have even copied the hit because it's so effective. And he's using his back to hit so if the elbow takes a part of it, it's because the other tries to move aside to avoid it but isn't fast enough.

Either you're a moron or just happy that it's happening to a certain player because defending McLeod's behavior and hit is just retarded.

And it's irrelevant if Kronwall will only be gone a few games. This hit could have ended his career, other times it has been taken less to end someone's career.

You know, if we weren't genuinely into hockey itself we wouldn't be so good at it to start with. There's tons of people in Europe who cheer for teams without a single fellow countryman in them.

Me though, I got into the Canucks in 1999 because when they drafted the Sedins they had three players from my hometown (now also top three in points in Canucks history). When both Näslund and the Sedins are gone I will still be a Canucks fan because I've been following them for so long.

I never defended McLeod, I just said it wasn't the worst hit I've ever seen. Calm down, your boyfriend will be fine.

Well you were doing that with all the it was Kronwall's fault, he deserved it and so on but yeah, you don't need to stand up for your statements anyway.
