Todays Bible is barely the same book as the original, which was a mix of texts and docterines from the other Abrahamic religions. Many of it's storied had already been told in other mono and polytheistic religions for thousnads of years, for example Jesus' story of the birth death and resurrection only to happen once again had already been told in the stories of Osiris and Dionysis. The original Hebrew Bible was compiled from over 2 hundred books written anywhere between 20 and 200 hundred years after the death of Christ, many were left out, particularly those accounts written by women, the first of the Churche's acts in the conspiracy to oppress women. Since then it's be translated into classic Latin, Old English and Middle English among others. Considering Hebrew doesn't translate idiomatically to Latin and Latin doesn't translate idiomatically even to old English or Middle English (a variety which rules are based on Latin), the notion that what is written in the Bible to day is anything at all like it's original form is ludicrous.

Robert Beckford and
Richard Dawkins if you find this stuff interesting.
Most contemporary Christians are comletely ignorant (through no fault of their own) of the exact origins of their religion, but as Christianity like all other faith preaches ignorance over experimentation, this is not suprising.
