An apparent crater as big as Ohio has been found in Antarctica. Scientists think it was carved by a space rock that caused the greatest mass extinction on Earth, 250 million years ago.


The crater, buried beneath a half-mile of ice and discovered by some serious airborne and satellite sleuthing, is more than twice as big as the one involved in the demise of the dinosaurs.

Stupid argument. Structured information does not require intelligence to lead its development, just look at the process of evolution and how natural selection causes structured matter to arise out of chaotic (less structured) matter. The same for how a river's flow changes over time. The posts you make are also proof that intelligence is not required to create (albeit useless) information.

Well of course you can never be for a complete 100% sure of anything, but when a massive amount of evidence is presented as in the case of evolution, it would be ignorance not to accept the theory. You can't be 100% sure either that there's not an ice cream factory on the backside of jupiter, or that your mother is not an alien, but do you think it's worth taking into consideration that tiny chance?
I accept natural selection as a 99,99...9% matter of evidence, theory and logic and 0.00...1% matter of faith. Do you really think it's reasonable to call it a matter of faith for the tiny portion that is needed to accept the theory? Religion, is 100% faith, and fundamentalist religion is 100% ignorance.

You missed the important part of what I said. That it will ALWAYS happen. As in, why does time run forward as opposed to backwards? Might it ever reverse?

Or, to be really annoying, do you believe that the dark side of the moon (not the Floyd album!) looks as it has been depicted in photos? There are certain articles of scientific faith that one must simply accept.

Ever heard of the relativity theory? Time running backwards is impossible. Time is just something we invented to describe change. It doesn't even "actually" exist.

time is a human construct, it has no bearing on ecology or evolution

the reason it's easy for me to accept something scientific on faith is that science generally will continue to shed light on that something until it's empirically based instead of faith based, whereas religious faith has made no progression since its invention

Most of the time, the difference between people that accept the evolution theory and those that don't, is that the first group actually understands the theory. Years and years of hearing silly anti-evolution arguments, misconceptions, and misunderstandings, have provided me with plenty of evidence of this.

If you had an INCREDIBLE knowledge of 1% of the universe, is it possible that in the knowledge you haven't yet come across, there is ample evidence to prove that god exists? If you are reasonable you would say that "with the limited knowledge I have right now, I don't believe a God exists" which would show that you're an agnostic, because you don't have the absolute knowledge of the universe to say that a spiritual diety dosen't exist. In order to say that there is no gold in China, one must have absolute knowledge of China.
