[15:36] <egj> i recently listened to forest poetry + bonus tracks almost all the way through
[15:36] <egj> 34 tracks and 78 minutes of ildjarn
[15:36] <egj> enough to make grown men of lesser moral fiber weep
[15:37] <Majestik> hahahahaha
[15:38] <Majestik> I rise to that challenge!
[15:38] <egj> OH YEAH?
[15:39] <Majestik> NP: Ildjarn - Strength And Anger I BITRATE: 1408kbps TIME: 4s OF 3m12s [ 1 / 17 ]
[15:39] <Majestik> just queue that up twice in a row
[15:39] <egj> haha
[15:39] <egj> good luck!

I just completed my venture of listening to Strength And Anger (reissue without ambient tracks :)() more challenging to endure tho) twice in a row. length: 87:28

The winner is me.

Says the guy who judges whether to keep albums from 1 listen, yeah ;)

You know, Ildjarn is actually not crap, I like Ildjarn! It's just that I listened to 78 minutes of Ildjarn and found it kinda difficult (I just bought the album and wanted to listen to the whole thing) because music like that is best appreciated in smaller doses. Anyhoo, Møøse thought he'd OUT-ILDJARN me by listening to 87 minutes... It's just silly fun

If music is good, it shouldn't require more than 1 listen to make that fact known to the listener.

This ain't rocket science here.

To have to listen to an album more than once to appreciate it doesn't necessary make it a challenging listen. I don't really "do" challenging listens either, or like, I may buy those albums, but I hardly ever go for em.

I kinda liked Forest Poetry the first time I heard it. Am I sick?

Yeah, don't mistake what I'm saying. There are 100s of albums that I will find new things to love & appreciate about them upon repeat listens, but I still maintain the mark of good music is the ability for it to immediately grab the listener.

Different strokes. Different folks.

Is this the album you guys are talking about? I saw it at Vintage Vinyl yesterday.

It's amazing how many albums share that cover, but only at strategic times. Like when answering you would necessitate that I actually saw the album cover.

fuck ... you think like on this subject too? my long lost soulmate :loco: o_O :tickled:

Metal-archives obviously pwns you to a degree unfathomable by you, mere mortal.

My criteria for good music are if I like how it sounds. If I like how it sounds the 90th time I listen to it and not the first, I still like how it sounds, and thus it's good.
