A new, sober, thread about single malt scotch whisky thread.

Tonight is celebration, thusly I'm breaking this out finally

had some scotch at a tasting about 6 weeks ago that supposedly contained 9000 year old peat (they throw a pinch from the ancient patch into every batch)
 
Know the name? I think I might have to paint my face in blue celtic designs and run about in a kilt for that
 
cant find any hard info online about the ancient peat but i think it was the Highland Park 8 yr of the Orkney Island region. the host/mc/expert of the tasting was some scottish dude in a kilt that had visited all the distilleries and had stories and histories about them all that dont show up in online reviews, but this was the peaty one and the location description of hills and springs sounds like the dude's story. im sure you'll understand everything learned that evening is a little blurry :)
