The last one for this year at least... :heh:

Vocals will be added soon... lyrics are being written down now, and i am aware that mix is clipping a bit here and there (at least it is over here on my ultra sensitive headphones!)

Anyway:

SoundClick MP3: Toxic Grind Machine - What started as a grindcore project, transformed into a melodic death metal project with synths, lot's of orchestral stuff, and melody combined with brutal stuff.

"Signal Seven"

Quite a long one again... but i hope it feels like a breeze and not too long when your listening...
Mind you, vocals will be added, so some parts that seem to be repeated too much are going to be filled with versatile vocals.

Fire away... please leave some feedback on what you like and dislike!

UPDATE:

Here are some of the settings..

Right, first of all, the kick:

All files in one go, will probably last a month or more...

Good luck!

Dude, seriously, what the hell are you doing on this forum? Get out there, find some musicians and get this out on the road! Release a CD of this. Come to Oz! :p
Oh, and add more synths, they add an awsome layer to it all.

Fucking hell dude, you are a GOD!!!

I'd love some details, if you'd be so kind ;).

I love how you've figured out how to make realistic sounding blasts on stuff - I assume manual "off" placement, varying velocities heavily, and changing the BPM a touch?

Also, loving the electronica intro/outro - were those drums via DFHS?

your stuff never disappoints. this one is great both musically and production wise. i really want to hear some vox on it. Also, you always make great sounding synth parts, you always leave me wanting to hear more synths. Details please...

Nice! I am not one for blastbeats, but I like most of the other elements. Being the electro-head here, I have some gripes with the synths. They just don't sound "classy" enough for me. Especially in comparison with the cool-sounding metal stuff. The melodic "arpeggio" synth in the chorus (?) could use some more attack, to come through a bit - although that might change when the vox come in.

And some fast guitar parts could use retracking for more tightness.

I like the fat snare!

Wow... That's just amazing:headbang: - totally cool music and great production. Please give some details on the setup. (Especially the guitars):kickass:

Michael

WTF!! U killin' me with that shit!! Sounds awesome! I'd buy it in a sec if u released it. The part from 1:15 to 1:50 is definately the weakest part of the track. To me it seems like a 35 second statement saying "this is brutal" - not necessary at all - the parts before that already made that totally clear. I'd loose it.

A singer like Bjørn "Speed" Strid from Soilwork and a letter with a promo to Roadrunner or Earache and you're off.

MORE! MORE! MORE!

Thanks all!

Daniel, spot on man! as i was listening today, fresh ears, i noticed that it could use more synths... will add some more on some parts.

Where she wept:

Mostly i use imposcar ("lead" on the chorus), A1 (background synth on the chorus, A1 is nuendo's standard VSTi), the intro and outro part is done with Rob Papen's Albino, the synthy drums are done with nuendo's own LM7 drumkit.. shite when you listen to it, but compressed it, delayed it, and some reverb on it, and it turned out pretty well, i think.
I also use a filter called "tonic"... that cubase and nuendo has built in as well, i set that up so it syncs with the midi click track, so it slices a solid tone into a rhytm like synth, you know?
The robotic sound in the intro and outro is a synth, but i put orange vocorder on it for that effect.

Thanks DSS/Jeff! Funny thing is... i did almost nothing to these drums.. on the blastbeat part, i did fiddle with the velocity a bit, but what i did as well, and maybe more important, is just turn down the volume on that part!
The BPM is 160 straight through... just for comfort, so that when the dudes who will grunt and scream on this can go into a studio, set the click track, and be done with it, you know?

Will keep that in mind Smy... cheers for the feedback as always!

Will post the patch tomorrow or tonight, for LSD and diblan, or anyone who wants it, mind you... it's a tweaked kazrog patch, will make some pics of my entire setup as well... in nuendo that is, my place here looks like shit, just a MIDI keyboard, a gibson plus POD XT, a PC, and some speakers (this was entirely mixed on headphones though, gotta love people around you! ;))

Right... my setup for those who want to know:

Gibson explorer with EMG's -> POD XT -> Patch i will upload soon (basically kazrog's patch, but tweaked and EQ'ed) -> audiophile 24/96 soundcard -> nuendo.
