Because it's actually cheaper in Japan to buy an import than a Japanese release. So they often get new releases earlier than the rest of the world, & very frequently with bonus tracks, all to try to entice them to buy their domestic Japanese release rather than buying imports from elsewhere.

Haha, sorry don't mean to laugh but I had this since 2003, oh wait that's right I practically live in Japan I know, bow down! Actually I bought that CD in Taiwan, so it was only about $10 US...

As for buying CD's Japan, just make sure you bring $30 for a CD...
