A Tribute to Opeth

hmm. thats a tough one, hunaþký...i'll say:

in flames - the moor
nick drake - patterns in the ivy II
anathema - to bid you farewell
dream theater (with a death vocalist) - blackwater park
pain of salvation - moonlapse vertigo

Dark Tranquillity - The Moor
Cannibal Corpse - Demon Of The Fall (hehe make it heavier!!)
Katatonia - Credence
Novembre - When

and I'll agree with Anathema doing To Bid You Farewell.

I'd also love to hear a cover of Black Rose Immortal but I can't think of a suitable band.... Maybe Thales would do a cover for us? lol

napalm death - to bid you farewell
the smiths - black rose immortal
guns n' roses - the drapery falls
blink 182 - in mist she was standing
jane's addiction - the amen corner

great idea!

emperor - blackwater park
pink floyd - the drapery falls [don't know how they could manage with growls eheh...]
devin townsend - karma
porcupine tree - to bid you farewell
myself - benighted

1. Katatonia- Benighted (image Jonas Renkse singing that!!)
2. Emperor- Demon of the Fall
3. Borknagar- The Night and the Silent Water
4. My Dying Bride- Bleak (oh.. imagine, just imagine....)
5. Soilwork- The Leper Affinity

Now I really would love to hear these bands playing those songs!!

I don't know if I could come up with 5.

Katatonia - Face of Melinda
Anathema - To Bid You Farewell (seems to be popular)
Pink Floyd - Epilogue

Now I'll have to look at other suggestions:

My Dying Bride - Bleak (oh yes)

I can't think of any others that would be appropriate out of the bands I know.

hm my dying bride - bleak sounds good.

hey, requiem, i heard that jonas did the vocals for "credence" when mikael was sick in one gig.

It looks like I've hit on a winner with MDB and Bleak!

And it doesn't surprise me that Jonas sang for Mikael when he was sick, considering Mikael sang for Jonas when his (growling) voice disappeared.

dirge for november - katatonia
paterns in the ivy ii - anathema
karma - emperor
to bid you farewell - anekdoten
the apostle in triumph - agalloch
