Absolutely 100% PERFECT albums...

Opeth- Morningrise
This album wasn't made, it was captured from the essence of the cosmos somewhere... Some negatively compare this album's production to the newer productions the band's gotten, but I strongly disagree... the newer albums are just METAL productions, this one was just music that happens to be metal... the best of the best.[/QUOTE]

I absolutely agree, Morningrise happens. It´s an instant, a section of time and space, a piece of the mind of nature that happened to be magically captured by Opeth. :worship:
They definetely understand something in the universe I know I can only touch with my fingertips. Maybe one day people who don´t get it, can understand what really Opeth means in Human´s musical history.
Another albums...another bands, "...And justice for all" is perfect, so it´s "Revolver" by The Beatles.

Led Zeppelin - IV (sure this is not the title, but this album has no title)
Boston - s/t
Iced Earth - Night of The Stormrider
Megadeth - Rust In Piece
Metallica - Kill 'Em All (none of those songs are filler songs)
Dream Theater - Scenes From A Memory
Alice In Chains - Facelift

I don't know about perfect, but these are pretty close to it for me:

Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Queensryche - The Warning. I know most people consider Operation Mindcrime this band's masterpiece, but The Warning has always been my favorite

Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth

Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse. There is absolutely nothing I would change about this album. The emotions and imagery conveyed on here are perfect.

Bruce Dickinson - The Chemical Wedding

Vintersorg - Cosmic Genesis and Ödemarkens Son

Moonsorrow - Suden Uni. I can't help it, I love this album.

Pink Floyd - The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon

Man, this is really difficult, considering that personal taste is so subjective. And that is not even considering relativity, as tastes evolve/devolve. I would say right now, as far as modern bands are concerned(the last ten years):

Paradise Lost - The Draconian Times(utter metal perfection)
Katatonia - Last Fair Deal Gone Down(the most honest and melancholy record I have ever heard, and that is not even including the godly production, performance, and art)

But as far as classic records go:

Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind
King Diamond - Abigail/Them(tie)
Testament - The Legacy
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Anthrax - Among The Living

These are perfect :
Bozzio/Levin/Stevens - Situation Dangerous
Iron Maiden - 7th son of a 7th son

Almost but not quite :
Symphony X - Divine Wings of Tragedy
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Megadeth - Rust in Peace

Opeth
-Damnation
-Still Life
-MAYH

Beatles
-White Album

Weezer (prepares for flaming):hotjump:
- Pinkerton (raw emotion)

Star Wars
- The Phantom Menace soundtrack

Dream Theater
- Awake

In no particular order:
Opeth - BWP, Still Life, MAYH, Morningrise
Amon Amarth - Vs. The World
Amorphis - Tales from 1,000 Lakes
Tool - Lateralus
Metallica - And Justice for All
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Emperor - In the Nightside Eclispe
Death - Symbolic
Dream Theater - Images and Words (set the standard for Progressive)
Sepultura - Arise (in terms of thrash)
Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armageddon
Metallica - Master of Puppets
At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
Forest Stream - Tears of Mortal Solitude
Borknagar - Borknagar
Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Bathory - Hammerheart, Nordland 2
Agalloch - Pale Folklore

The one album that satisfies all my musical tastes to the point where I shoot hot loads of sperm each time I listen. Like a night of hot passionate sex.

so far...no album has done that. But...I'm still waiting.

there is no set answer....i think that every opeth album has been mentioned besides orchid....and imo, orchid sounds pretty damn similar to morningrise....they are not really "produced"...they are very raw...

Hmmm, I'm not sure about perfect, but I think some albums can be perfect for what they do/set out to do.

so,

Opeth - Each album sets out to do something, and IMO opinion, succeeds. Even Deliverance is pretty much exactly what I want from a technical death metal album with some emotion and creativity thrown in.

Black Sabbath - Paranoid. Enough said.

Led Zeppelin - Untitled. Once again, enough said.

King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King. Probably the best prog rock album ever. The title track and Epitaph more than make up for any weak spots (I know it's supposed to be PERFECT, but I'm going for pragmatically perfect).

Arch Enemy - Wages of Sin. You want speed, you want melody? You put this on.

Nick Drake - Pink Moon. Pure, melancholic, folk-driven, bucolic music.

Katatonia - Last Fair Deal Gone Down & Viva Emptiness. Beautiful pieces, both.

....there's also some others which I personally don't rank with them, but which achieve what they set out to do, such as Lateralus, etc, etc.

Well, there's my 2 cents.

devin townsend - infinity, ocean machine, physicist

in flames - colony

arcturus - the sham mirrors

nevermore - deadheart in a dead world

emperor - anthems to the welkin at dusk

metallica - master of puppets

Gentle Giant - Acquiring the Taste
Liekki - Korppi
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine
Frank Zappa - Roxy and Elsewhere
The Beatles - Revolver
Steely Dan - Countdown to ecstasy , Aja

100% perfect

Hmm here are my perfect albums:

Opeth - Still Life (Godhead! Melinda!)
Opeth - BWP
Ajattara - Kuolema
anathema - Alternative 4
amorphis - 1000 Lakes, elegy, Tuonela, Am Universum
Bolt Thrower - Mercenary
Crowbar - Odd fellows rest (this heaviness and this voice are incredible!)
Down - NOLA
Devin Townsend - Terria, Accelerated Eolution
Fear Factory - Obsolete, Demanufacture
Ganz Schön Feist - Gänseblümchen
Haggard - Awaking the centuries
Hypocrisy - Hypocrisy
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick, Aqualung
Tool - Lateralus
Paradise Lost - Icon, DT, Horst (!), Symbol of Life
Spock's Beard - V, Snow
Undertow, 34CE
Rage against the Machine - Same
Life of agony - River runs Red
Machine Head - Through the ashes of empires
Moonsorrow - Suden Uni
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Katatonia - viva Emptiness (I sometimes sing only their melodies when I'm melancholy)
Spiritual Beggars - Ad Astra
Subway to Sally - Hochzeit
Shape of Despair - Angels of distress
The Offspring - Ixnay on the hombre
Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus - In Frostigen Tälern, Rajaportti
Ulver - Kvelsjanger
