Perfect Metal Albums?

There's nothing wrong with that, songs don't have to be complex and cycle through several keys to be interesting; i.e. Immortal's "Battles in the North", which is pretty much one long song with about six different riff cycles and about two or three tempo changes. Fucking awesome album, though. :kickass:

well I dunno, most of mastodon's material is far more challenging, creative and interesting to me.

this is my favorite mastodon song at the moment, incredibly complex but still very catchy and hard hitting

Dream Theater- Images and Words
Sonata Arctica- Winterheart's Guild
Blind Guardian- Imaginations from the Otherside
Queensyche- Operation Mindcrime (although I find the production somewhat lacking, I do not regard that as part of the musical aspect)

Does Dream Theater- A Change of Seasons, the song, count as an album?

Yes :) Absolutely love both albums.

Catch Without Arms is seriously one of the most amazing albums I've ever heard. It is so simple, catchy, emotional, and yet manages to do all that without ever crossing the line into cheesiness and total sappyness. Last year I pretty much listened to it at least once a day - everyday :) Not once did I grow tired of it.

Relationship of Command will always be special to me because I used the intro to Enfilade as my first prank call :D

Okay, here we go...

Darkthrone-Transilvanian Hunger
Burzum-Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
Graveland-Thousand Swords
Immortal-Damned in Black
Avian-From The Depths Of Time
Dissection-The Somberlain
Dissection-Storm Of The Light's Bane
Candlemass-Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
The Crown-Deathrace King
Countess-Heilig Vuur
The Absence-From Your Grave
Dripping-Disentegration of Thought Patterns During A Synthetic Mind Traveling Bliss
Metallica-Ride The Lightning

I still don't see the big deal with Arghoslent, lyrical content/gimmick aside.
