In Flames - Clayman
Metallica - Master of Puppets

I can't concievably believe anyone would regard morningrise as a perfect album. It may have beautifully written songs but not unlike the way I feel about ..and justice, it sounds AWFUL. Forget jibberish about it sounding less like a produced metal album, it sounds like it was recorded with a handheld tape recorder. The guitars sound very weak and mikael sounds like he's singing in a empty hall with the mic 50 meters from his mouth.

You have a worhtless taste of music.
Either you have one of the cheapest crap sounds systems in the world Or you have Morningrise on mp3 format.
On Morningrise you can clearly hear all instruments and its not mixed like som pop album.

To me, a perfect album means that you can listen to the whole thing without getting bored. Having said that,

Metallica-Master of puppets: Need I say more!!
NIN-The downward spiral: I enjoy Broken more, but this album is perfect for its purpose.
Tool-Lateralus: I love every song on this album!
Black Sabbath-Paranoid: Again.....Need I say more!!!!
Opeth-All of them!!!: I seriously think every song on each album is perfect for the albums purpose.
Bloodbath-Resurrection through carnage: It's meant to be pure death, and it is.

Some of these are my favorite albums of all time, but some aren't, but I feel that every song on each album I chose is perfect for its purpose.

Well in that case, there would be a lot of perfect albums. Just because they're not boring doesn't really mean they're perfect though. Whoever started this thread (eh, I'm too lazy to check) specifically wanted an album with perfect production, perfect songs, perfect mixing, etc. :) But in terms of not being boring

DGM - HIdden Place
Opeth - All (except maybe Damnation =/)
Pink Floyd - All
Beatles - Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's
ELP - All
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick, Aqualung

and a hella lot more. :-D

Dream Theater - Scenes From a Memory Pt. 2
This album is just the most amazing album ever... I can just lay back, put it on, and be hypnotized as every melody flows through my head. This is just one of those magical CDs for me.

Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse
My first Opeth CD... I feel like I'm in a dark forest in dark rolling hills surrounded by ghosts when hearing this... I know I'm on a ride through perfectness whenever I hear "IT WAS ME PEERING THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS!!!!"

Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane
There's just something about this one that I can't put my finger on. It was just magical to me and I wouldn't change a single thing about it. PoS at their best.

Amorphis - Tuonela
Another one of those magical albums. The songs sound very alike, but they're all amazing. This CD has the power to show you "the way" to great music.

Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing
This CD is pure power... to me... Killswitch Engage put exactly what they wanted on this CD. I have to catch my breath when this CD is over. The vocalist is great and the guitars are brutal.

Ours - DL
Like many others on this board... I'm in love with this CD. Every single song is as it should be. And I like Miseryhead =P Hehehe

Others that come close are Tool - Aenima and Lateralus (I skip the filler most of the time because of annoyance though) and Emperor's Prometheus (Empty is AN AWFUL SONG). Lacuna Coil's Unleashed Memory is probably really close... but it gets very repetitve to me after a while. Oh well... that's my view.

To me the only perfect album in hard rock metal history is AC/DC Back in Black. It was when the Young brothers just got it right. After the death of Bon Scott they just reached into their blues hard rock hearts and created a masterpiece. Is this my favourite album, no. Not by the proverbial 1.6 kilometre.
Someone mentioned this album on this thread and said Shoot to Thrill was the weakest track. Well I just dig that track, the breakdown the solo the chorus etc. A special mention to Givin the Dog a Bone, surely one of cock/hard rocks most delicious moments. That twisted blues lick is unique and probably the most metal song they have ever penned.

Now to other perfection-in no order.

Queensryche- Empire
Coroner- No More Colour
Rush-Hemispheres
Slayer-guess!!
Watchtower-Control and Resistance
Obituary-Cause of Death
Soundtrack to Starcraft lol.
Steely Dan- Aja, Katy Lied
Led Zeppiln-4
Deep Purple- In Rock-(Bloodsucker!!!)
Opeth-Damnation
Alan Holdsworth-Metal Fatigue

(I know Heartwork by Carcass has been mentioned a couple of times but my copy as been at a mates place for a long time. Who lives 400 kms away. So Carcass rocks but as to perfect I need another listen. For me that album is the Rust In Peace of death metal. Awesome guitar playing).
Also Piece of Mind has Quest for Fire. My god the worst Iron Maiden song ever written. Apart from that clunker its great. I still think Number of the Beast and Killers is their most perfect albums.

Enuff said.

Thanks for reading.

Mr Bungle-California; Mike Patton is THE god of vocals. I can't wait to see him with Tomahawk and Isis in 2 weeks.

Opeth-Still Life

Pink Floyd-The Wall, Disc 2; Just listen to the words "does anybody here remember Vera Lynn, remember how she said that we would meet again", that combined with Run Like Hell makes this my favorite classic rock CD of all time.

Steve Vai-Passion and Warfare; The quintessential guitar album, period.

Yeah Heartwork is the Rust in Peace of death metal . Took the words out of my mouth ;)
Somewhere In Time is awesome but it misses something in the last songs

I love Prometheus, it's one of my all time favorite albums of all time, but Empty and Thorns on my Grave ruined it. =/ Those songs are really pretty awful.
Empty really? It's awesome ! Have you seen the video? Maybe it's a key to understand the song , it worked with me ( but i already like the song first )
