Absolutely Essential Metalcore

I've been listening to alot of hardcore lately, and really enjoy it... so... there has to be some kind of middle ground here. I'm willing to check out good metalcore, and I think I'll enjoy it... but I have no idea where to start.

Chimaira are an amazing metalcore band. They're a bit more on the groove metal side but they still have noticeable metalcore influences.

Since they're a little closer to purist metal I think they would be good to start off with before you start listening to more traditional metalcore.
