Albums that have impeccable production?

I'll second the Mabool mention. For the sound achieved though, the production on the holy trio of Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and And Justice... for All was close to perfection. I seriously wonder out of sheer morbid curiosity what affect it would have on their sound if Fleming Rasmussen were to take the studio command once more.

LOL ... so who got you so involved in higher end audio all of a sudden? did you get that Outlaw amp yet?

Yeah dude. Ive had it for about a week and a half now. The culprit and bad influence would be my girlfriend's brother-in-law.

It's amazing how REALLY good sound reproduction can bring you THAT much closer to the music and produce even more of an emotional reaction.

I just have to keep myself in check and remember that the music is #1...not the fucking equipment. You know what I mean.

you better take her picture off of facebook then :loco:

 :zombie:

pics of the setup please

The other night I picked up a couch for my mother in law from this dude's house and in the corner he had some ultra-high end phono from the 1970s. Not a very interesting story but I found myself wishing Ken was there so we could kill him and take his audio shit....and the couch.

Amp/Preamp: Outlaw Audio RR2150 (probably add a couple Outlaw 2200 mono amps soon; 200wpc)
Turntable: Rega P1 (P3 someday)
CD Player: Some Onkyo 6cd fucker (my next purchase may be a cd player, dunno yet)

oh man ... swap the cd payer out dude if you are rigging up ...
my reco, get a blueray player from Sony or Denon, Pioneer ... should have you covered for the next few years (or 6 months)

Whats so hard about removing the platter and manually moving the band?

You;re not going to get a better player for the price. Not to mention the cartridge is the balls. A glass platter is my next upgrade.

it's stupid

this is 2008 they can implement a fucking button so it won't take 5 minutes to change the record

it's the single thing that will make me buy a lower-end denon instead so fuck you rega

6 months, hahahah...

but seriosuly...BLUERAY!?! Fuck that. Why?

I was thinking along the lines of a Rotel, Cambridge Audio, or maybe even a NAD.

everything except a dedicated cd player is stupid

eradicate every dvd and bluray player from the face of the earth

Have fun with listening to inferiority due to laziness. :loco:

The P1 is a bare-bones player, sticking to the things that matter most; the motor, tonearm, and cartridge.

Blueray should have you covered for A/V pretty well. I am sure it handles cd's wunderbar.

but .. ahhh a Rotel ... yes, go for it.

damn you, now I am craving some new toys.

I would purchase the $180 Oppo DVD/CD player that is supposed to smoke cd players that are WAY more expensive (not to mention the great DVD playback - id get two)...but my Outlaw is a purely analog unit.

So, i am looking for a decent turntable. Would you recommend a rega? I don't want to go crazy price wise, but I want something decent. My turntable now sucks so bad I want to cry.
