What do you listen to right before you go to sleep.

I always look for something relaxing and interesting.

Mogwai - Come on,Die young
Jesu - S/T
Angelic process - Weighing souls

...The song Cogwheel by Scythe has been on my list. I just listen to that song over and over before I fall asleep.

I don't sleep to music too much anymore, but when I do, it's usually Helios or some other such ambient stuff.

I used to sleep to any type of metal though, really.

Cool to see a Bon Iver mention btw.

Burzum - Filosofem
The Angelic Process - Weighing Souls With Sand
Cocteau Twins - Treasure
Paysage d'Hiver - Schattengang
Biosphere - Substrata
Hammock - Maybe They Will Sing for Us Tomorrow
Coil - Musick to Play in the Dark
Tenhi - Väre
Dead Can Dance - Within the Realm of a Dying Sun
Walknut - Graveforests and Their Shadows
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Sol Invictus - In the Rain
Nordlicht - Nordlicht
Current 93 - Sleep Has His House
Ulver - Kveldssanger
Lovesliescrushing - Bloweyelashwish
Elend - A World in Their Screams
Sigur Rós - Ágætis byrjun
Blut aus Nord - Ultima Thulée
This Mortal Coil - It'll End in Tears

Agalloch - Pale Folklore
Agalloch - The Mantle
Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times
Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger

...and probably others.

none. why do people do this?

In my case, I actually listen to them quietly while I'm lying in my bed and feeling like I'm ready to sleep, and don't actually leave them playing all night while I'm sleeping.

Also, it's a fact that some people have developed a need to have some kind of familiar sound in order to sleep well, whether it's white noise or quiet music.

Yeah dude, Bon Iver rules. Cool to see someone else on the boards who digs 'em.

I need the news to help me sleep. it keeps away the faces and dark figures that hide in the dark corners to the entrances. I use to like me some Hannity and Colmes (I'd never watch it awake, tho) but usually I'm starting to like Anderson cooper.

no metal tho, I don't want to turn over in my sleep and break the device.

Arcana - Raspail
Estradasphere - Palace Of Mirrors
October Falls - Marras/Tuoni
Empyrium - Weiland
Burzum - Filosofem
Vinterriket/Paysage d'Hiver - Das Winterreich/Schnee
Shawn Lane - Powers Of Ten

And a couple more...

I find listening to music in bed before I sleep is the best way to absorb new music. I like to listen to an album a couple of times in my car or something and then when I play it in bed, in the dark with no distractions, it all clicks for me.

Having said that, my regular albums would be anything by Dead Can Dance and Elend.

yr so weird.

Tool - Lateralus
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Opeth - Damnation

This is for napping though, not proper sleeping. Can get some pretty trippy dreams listening to stuff while sleeping.
