Yeah they do but aren't all the 4 band members making enough money to get by on their music and save money for when they retire? If they aren't, then I get it.

think of it this way Ground, bands love to play music..bands like Nevermore love to do what they do regardless....however, when they work for 10 years doing what they love and not getting alot of recognition for it, and staying underground, dont you think they would want to hit a larger audience? not for the money but just in general? Dont you think they wanna headline their own tour playing for people in cities all over the place and have people say "hey thats Nevermore! theyre one killer band!" not everyone is out to say "hey thats Nevermore, what a bunch of sellouts..." not every band is Metallica!

why do you think they have side jobs, such as Warrel being a chef... Jeff was/still is....
Van atleast used to work for Nintendo... and.... Jim gets drunk.... i don't know what the fuck he does.. but yeah, they aren't making enough money to make a living off of this yet

:Smug: That's just about retarded, I for one hope they sell millions and make as much loot as possible and live like kings. Improbable but hey, they are waaaay better than 90% of the crap bands raking it in out there right now. This whole "underground" bullshit is stupid.......... :err:

Hey Steve. Been well?

Don't call it nu-metal, people; that gives it too much dignity. Mallcore, please.

I hope for the success of all the bands I listen to, but - no offense - it won't break my heart if Nevermore never gets a platinum album. It's their job, not mine...I just support them by buying CDs, going to shows, wearing t-shirts, and posting random shit on their message board.

you are ignorant of everything

clearly, I was referring to the fact that there are very few truely unique metal bands to come out of the USA... the vast majority are thrash, hardcore, death metal, or nu-metal... hey, not everyone can be an Agalloch or Scholomance... there are very few bands in the USA that are "trend-breakers" and "unique artists" that was my point.

I am not ingnorant of everything, but you my friend are ignorant of the fact that you are a woman.

because you dont know some major metal bands out of your "vast majority are thrash, hardcore, death metal, or nu-metal..." you are still ignorant . when some serious evolution throughout the history of metal took place, it happened in the u.s.a.
and about your kindergarden comment .. you wear a burzum shirt .

Technically, Incorrect. Burzum was a black metal band from Norway who evolved from its Occult/Satanist roots to its present Odinist electronica form, whereas Britney Spears is a bubblegum popstar who wouldn't sell any records if it wasn't for idiots worldwide having a fixation on her breasts.

but taking the literal meaning of your interpretation "Britney Spears = Burzum" is also incorrect as they are NOT the same band. so, you LOSE!!!
... LOSER!

Death and thrash STARTED in the US, dude. That's pretty fucking unique.
