Angry Again/UM/State of Rock/fucking hair?!

On slightly more Serious note.... not to much more...... We are to fucking nice to each other around here and we never fight lol I really miss it back in the day when you had to fight and claw in here lol its become so docile that when I give somebody shit and I get no response I just feel like an asshole lol c'mon if I give you shit fire back make me look stupid! lol ok I'm done :loco:

I know labels are not a big deal, guess I came off a little heavy there. It's just that if a band was once considered metal then they should always be considered metal, that's my thinking anyway.

No its you I agreed with... I think so too. My post was directed at Swine making a point about whether or not "hair metal" is metal, I mean who cares? That's the common name its given, there's no real need argue that its not valid because its not considered metal anymore. Who cares? If ya like it, listen to it and if not then don't... but there are better things (like best hairstyles in rock HAHA!) to discuss than why hair metal isn't "true metal" or whatever.

If people consider it metal, so be it. I do. If people don't consider it metal, so be it, no skin off my nose lol. It's really not important! But I do agree with you, if it was considered metal at the time then I can't see how it can suddenly not because metal anymore.

Thanks guys. I thought I was coming off like a crusty old asshole in this thread there for a minute. But what else is new. :D

Either way, it's nice to have the Swinester back stirring shit up. :)

sixxswineAnd for those of you waiting for the 80’s glam rock scene to come back? Get a fuckin’ life. [/QUOTE said:
Hey I got my fuckin' life and if i fell that I want to spend it waiting for glam to make a big comeback then I guess thats up to me. I think (just an opinion here though)that a glam revolution is just what music needs at the moment to lift the spirits and I think The Darkness are leading the way. Not completly sure that they are a glam band but it is the closest thing I can find to classify them as at the moment so if I am wrong (which being a woman dosn't happen very often)please correct me.

I think the Darkness are the absolute BEST FREAKING BAND in the world right now! Seriously!!! I think they are bringing their brand of rock to a new audience (mtv) that is lost in rap and nu-metal. Just like the mighty GUNS N ROSES did back in the late 80's they remind everyone that there's nothing wrong with a little debauchery now and again and that bands like the Stones, Queen, AC/DC, and Thin Lizzy deserve to be remembered, not lost in a sea of downtuned chords from every Tom, Dick and Staind. I LOVE the fact that the singer is a little bit of a nut(fruit?)cake! I love that he wears catsuits and sings like his balls have just been pounded flat with a wooden hammer, and I LOVE that as goofy as they are they consider themselves to be a serious rock band!!! Imagine David Lee Roth and Freddy Mercury morphed into one! What the hell is wrong with that?!?!?

Anyone who doesn't like THE DARKNESS, who can honestly say in their heart of hearts, when nobody else is around to judge them...that they think the Darkness suck..well, they are probably the type of man who squats to pee! ( or the type of woman who...uh...I dunno..they're just a miserable wench! haha)

Lighten up folks!

I know it's only ROCK N ROLL BUT I LIKE IT!

The Darkness RAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWK!
Ted

Well... hum... I don't like The Darkness :p

Not that they're crap or anything but... their music just does nothing to me, and the singer annoys the hell out of me.
Honestly I don't know why they're always compared to Queen and Thin Lizzy...

I don't know if I would give The Darkness that much credit TVF, they are good and I think that if some of you out of shape fans of glam rock that are "hoping" for a comback, think again. I think back when Buckcherry came out people where saying that the comeback was just around the corner. Three years later, y'all are still waiting & Buckcherry has broken up. So put those "spandex" zebra pants away, yeah I know they'll strech, get rid of 'em. I would suggest you invest in a hair cut & get rid of the mullet, it ain't cool.
Where the Down Boys Go? Sounds like a title to a gay porn don't you stink?!

I don't know who The Darkness is so I don't know if I like them or not, but I think we need more metal period that's neither nu-metal or rap-metal. Many of these European power metal bands and prog bands are really good. What few Americans that do know a little about prog and power think that all power bands sing like Helloween and all Prog bands play way over the top musical masturbation. Nothing could be farther from the truth though. So many bands get lumped into the power or Prog category because they simply don't fit anywhere else.
Some things are changing a little for the better though. I don't care if Sixx does blow a fuse about my posts about bands like Fuel and Nickelback, but both of those bands last releases are agressive hard rock releases with strong hooks. A hundred Limp Dickshits don't have the talent of those guys. I'm not posting this to try and push their music, but as I do own the new Fuel and bought the new Nickelback for the wife (and listen to it as much as she) they offer a whole lot more than a couple of power ballads that are radio friendly. BOth of those bands offer some serious muscle in their music, don't rap, and don't do the cookie monter thing.

Nothing wrong with hoping glam will come back. If I feel happy living in my own little glam-rock obsessed world then I don't see any reason to stop just because nobody else agrees. If I'm happier in my own little world pretending its 1987 than I would be denying the fact that that's what excites me the most and pushing it aside to fit in with what everyone else is doing, then I see no problem with it. Whatever makes you happy, and living in 1987 makes me happy haha.

I'd just be happy to see rock n roll come back! It doesn't have to be glam or metal or whatever... but just rock! Dirty sweaty Les Paul through a Marshall ROCK!!!!!

I don't like The Darkness much either, I will give them credit for bringing some guitar back into the mainstream but comparison with the almighty Thin Lizzy? Hell no, I had the privilege of seeing the classic Lynott/Downey/Gorham/Robertson line-up back in '76 and frankly The Darkness could just about Roadie for 'em. ;)

If you want some jaw-dropping new music I'd suggest the Faeroese band Tyr!

Bryant, I don't blow a gasket over Fuel or NicklesN'Chains. You can listen to whatever the hell floats your boat. Knock yourself out.
Like I said the guitar will make a comeback, and yes both of your bands incorporate it well within their sappy corporate nu rock.
