AYDY Released

^ If you disagree with that post, you've already made yourself a fucking idiot. And I don't need or want your approval, I do think CoB is the best band in the world and I know I'm one of the sanest people here, so fuck you.

He's just covering up his tracks!

Joonas if you're getting confused check out the COBHC.com down thread!;)

until this album, there wasn't a cob album out that i didn't like every song. this album is the exact opposite, i dislike every song... you're truly clueless.

I think Chuck Schuldiner said it best:

"I just don't want to put out the same record every time. As a music fan, I like bands to stay within their sound, but progress at the same time-- which is the way I approach things."

This is exactly why Death will always be a legendary band, because Chuck knew how to evolve and try new things.

This is what Bodom is lacking in their new material. If they took their sound of the old and integrated that into this new metalcore interest of Alexi's they would actually be evolving. Instead of completely dropping a sound like it's a flavour of the week.

Couldn't have said it better.
Chuck ownes all. Still.

I don't know I definaetly think this album is underrated but still their worst...but its not a whole lot worse or even differant(in my opinion) to HCDR,just a little bit more straight forward which pisses me off. But songs like if you want peace prepare for war and living dead beat are pretty cool all the same.....oh and i seriously hope that guy was joking when he sayd that there are normally only a couple of good tracks on bodom records....2 words-something wild!!!!!!

I've just received my japanese copy of AYDY? and first of all I must say that the mp3s really suck!! I shall never, ever download mp3s again before the official release of an album: it's like listening to something else! Up with the original CD and it's crystal-clear, powerful production.

As for the quality of the songs themselves, yes: this is the most straightforward album COB have ever released. Not really on par with masterpieces like HB or FtR, but still pretty enjoyable and moshable material :)

I'm happy with this album, although I truly hope COB's future works will be more complex and thought out.

Well I just got my copy in earlier today, overall i would say its a very straightforward album as many here agree, its not up to par with ftr, hb or even dare i say hcdr! but it does have some pretty cool songs on it, overall im a little disapointed but then again i was hoping for a ftr2 (not gonna happen). favorite songs so far are living dead beat (hoping somebody tabs that motherfucker soon!) bastards of bodom and if you want peace...im sure after a few more listens i will like more of the songs, but they are the songs getting my attention at the moment, decent album though.

I doubt it. Alexi said that HCDR and AYDY are the only albums which they all are happy and pleased about, so I don't see them going back to FtR style... And it looks like they're doing something right 'cause AYDY went straight to #1 in finnish charts.

I myself belong to the minority of the ppl here, 'cause I happen to like AYDY. In my opinion every CoB album rocks in it's own way and my favs still are Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper, but there is something good in AYDY too.

FtR would've been great if it had had the same sound as the single that previewed it. The album is not heavy or aggressive. You of course think the album version of Hate Me is better, right..

Yup. When I had my trainer listen to AYDY he went like "Indeed it's mainstream... but it's soooo awesome!!"

Same here.

It could actually use a heavier guitar sound (like that on HCDR or AYDY), but I'd say songs like Follow the Reaper, Taste of my scythe and Northern comfort have some pretty aggressive riffs in them.

Please stop, you're just embarrasing yourself.. something that I think is funny is heavy and scary and all those things to you.. You probably think Hate Me album version is better than single version right?

It's a very potential album. Imagine if they had made it sound heavy, downtuned guitars, more aggression less party.. you know like the way (live)Everytime I Die starts off in the T,L&S DVD, that's the kind of Bodom I like.
