B-B-B-Blastbeats!!!

Ok, just thought of something, this one's for all the no-blastaz. Check out a band called Scarve, part tech-death, part brutal hardcore, a lil' prog-metal, but everyone I know says the same thing... "They sound like Opeth with blasts." Check it out, then tell me you don't want TA-TA-TA-TA-TA-TA on the next Opeth album.

this sounds like linkin park with blasts...the french have weird ass clean vocals...or maybe spineshank guested on this album I don't know. the heavy parts with the growls are allright...they seem to never leave Anata territory though, kinda gets boring fast. I guess the only ""prog"" I hear in this is some meshuggah influenced syncopation...which isn't "prog" at all imo.

Obscenely fast double bass? Yes, please. Blastbeats? Nah. I love what Martin's done with drums so far for the band. I think he can continue to expand without resorting to blastbeats. Sure, they wouldn't be the end of the world... but I just don't think Opeth needs 'em.

I like blastbeats as long as they are not way used too much to overpower the other instruments.

But I certainly don't think it would fit in with Opeth's music. I did like how the drums got added punch to them on Deliverance though (which was not to the point of 'blastbeats').

And yeah there are Meshuggah influences, and you know, Mr Thordendal plays a solo in one song from last Scarve album.
Vocalist from Defleshed too.
And the drummer plays in 5/6 bands (death and grindcore).
i don't know why you say that it's like Linkin Rap.
For sure, its a little bit more commercial, more nu metal, but it isn't.

Blasts in Opeth ?
