I don't really play computer games anymore, but BG II is, IMHO, the greatest game ever made. If they can do anything even close, I will be pysched.

17 hours and change to find out I guess!

WOW, ....ok....6 hours of watching on a timer incomming. im prepared. :D

I think those golden days of RPGs may be over.

Having said that, have you played Planescape: Torment and Fallout 2? Both, in my opinion, eclipse BG 2 (but just barely).

Fallout 2 and Planescape Torment are way better than Baldurs Gate imho, it just seemed pretty cheesy to me.
Planescape Torment was cool, evil and funny at the same time (the Skull cracked me up all the time) and Fallout...
it was just Fallout, there's nothing bad to say :D

And yeah, the golden days of RGPs are over, and there were only a few I actually liked and nowadays I just play
for about 10 hours per year, so it doesn't matter to me ;)

So it was a countdown to tell us they are doing something - while teasers certainly get the hype up over a product, the end result was a little anti climatic, no production screenshots, no design artwork, just a note to say they are working on an enhanced version. Don't get me wrong - I love Baldurs Gate and have very fond memories of BGI and BGII, but a countdown to a press release - pardon the small wow. why not have some content at the time of launch to really build the product hype.

I used to be an avid gamer in high school (times of fallout2, quake3, etc.)

Lately something snapped in my mind. I can't even play games if I try. I fire up a game, and after 30 minutes my brains starts going... why are you wasting your time on this repetetive action, than I get bored and quit.

Makes me regret the cash I've spent lately on starcraft 2 ;/

Same here - I would go as far as to say I was damn near addicted to online gaming MMORPGs in early days of EverQuest - I spent way too many hours over way too many days glued in front of my PC on raids till the wee hours of the morning (west coast guild with me being an east coast player). Multiple accounts costing me way too much money. When I quit EverQuest I pretty much gave up gaming.

I've tried to play again - Single Player, other MMORPGs (Warcraft EQII, even back to EQ), but I never get more than 30 minutes into playing and I get bored.

These days I'd much rather waste time making music, mixing, just playing guitar...

Something similar happened to me right when I hit my early 20s ...

I used to be able to just whip my cock out and piss anywhere or around anyone. Never a problem, far from shy and pretty proud ... the world was my urinal

Then one day, something snapped in my mind and ever since then I'm totally gun shy. I can't for the life of me figure out what happened. I stand there ready to unleash a garden hose stream and as soon as I hear the door open I totally lock up and squeeze off

Weird, it's like we're all connected or something
