Bands/albums you want to like, for some reason

I don't even like KSE, but I think the general consensus is the exact opposite of that. When they had Jesse they were one of the early bands of that style and were praised pretty well. They got Howard and went really mainstream, got generic and a lot of old fans stopped caring about them. That has been my experience with almost any KSE fan I have encountered.

My opinion remains unchanged.

I tend to try to get into early Opeth from time to time but I just can't. That stuff never catches my attention. I only like them from Blackwater Park and after. Dunno why because the change isnt huge I just think thay got good for whatever reason.

I tend to want to like The John Bush era of Anthrax but it never really catches me. A few tracks are good but overall its boring shit.

I want to get into Iced Earth. I like Barlows vocals and some tracks are just amazing but Im never really able to listen to a album all the way through because its so repetative. Shaffer seems to only know how to write one kind of riff.

Orchid or Morningrise?

Orchid or Morningrise?

Yes Orchid (allthough I havent given it a fair chance probably). But mostly Morningrise and My arms your hearse (I own both those albums" but also Still Life. Cant get into those really.

I do like Blackwater Park, Ghost Reveries and Watershed though (the latest being my favorite). I havent heard Damnation or Deliverance.

If you really dig Blackwater Park then Deliverance will kick your ass. Damnation is really cool too if you like the softer part of Opeth.

MAYH & Morningrise for me.

by the way, who doesn't love this cover?

it'll always be a mystery to me how so many people don't *get* 'descend into the absurd', it's just a really pure example of the essence of death metal (i'd say the ultimate example but yknow), it's impossible to dislike unless you're only on the fringe of liking the genre

I know what you mean, I used to listen to it A LOT. I wouldn't call it amazing, but a very good album with great flow and great non-grating production. Some of the tracks drag for a bit, though.
