Sabbath's Vol. 4 has a guitar tone and sound in general. Very fuzzy and even nonchalant a time never being too in-your face.

Dismember buzz guitar tone just rips at the ear. Many Scandinavian bands of that era did as well, but none seem as ruthless. The tone almost carries the riffs.

Christ, does anybody understand the thread? It's about bands you like the musical sound of, but don't think they are capable of crafting good songs/albums.


For example, I posted Hate Eternal. I like their guitar tone, the production on their albums, and the vocals. But every one of their albums/songs have sucked colossal dick overall and never hold my interest.

Make more sense now?

Either, way I enjoy the tone Burzum uses on "Filosofem". The muffled fuzz is totally sinister while keyboards remain ehtreal. Really hypnotic.

Maybe the title of your thread could have been better articulated. So, try again and I'll close this one. I think this is actually prone to be mildly interesting because I generally think a bunch of bands seem like they should rule but just don't.
