Havok, Hatchet and Black Fast shouldn't even be mentioned right now dude. And none of those bands have more than one or maybbbbee two good albums at best. The only new school bands that should go in this early would be Vektor and Hexen. Maybe Warbringer and Exmortus but i think they can get in later.

Thanks for all the nominations lads. I've been a bit busy over the weekend, but will tally up everyone's nominations in the next day or two & the 32 bands which receive the most love will get through.

In the meantime, feel free to put forth your nominations if you haven't done so already. Feel free to do as Baroque has done & second any bands which you feel deserve it.

heathen is the only glaring one that's missing from your current list i think. and suicidal tendencies is kind of a big omission if we're including DRI. aside from those i guess i'd nominate infernal majesty, holy terror, obliveon, mekong delta, both sabbats and vektor as potential alternatives.

there are a few currently on this list that i'm kinda surprised aren't being challenged, i mean does anyone actually give a fuck about tankard? a few toward the bottom are debatable as well if we're picking in terms of classic status rather than just personal preference, but there's nothing heinous there i guess.

If I had to choose between Tankard and Suicidal Tendencies I'm going with Tankard, ST's best album is their non-metal debut and their funk metal era is kind of an abomination.

Suicidal Tendencies is fucking horrible. Tankard is not really that great (WAY below the 3 german thrash giants), but it's not as terrible as ST.

Heathen's definitely on a tier well below Suicidal Tendencies. Third-rate Metallica/Exodus copy with only two "classic" albums.

We should open things to 64 bands.

If you took the best songs from both albums, it wouldn't be too far from the third-best Exodus album in quality, but that shitty Geddy Lee knock-off would still hold them back.

So is this going to be a traditional bracket single elimination dealio? Making these brackets is easy using online tools, 64 bands seems no less doable than 32 imo, and doesn't require sacrificing big names like Suicidal Tendencies and Sarcofago. Also, are we counting Celtic Frost as thrash?

i've been a bit clouded lately so im still not sure wtf were even doing but here are my 32 picks...

What's happening is that Jimmy offered up an activity to pass the time, he must have been bored and wanted to give people something to talk about. Everyone else is trying to confuse the shit out of him with band names they've heard of, many of which are so important, so damn legendary, that they forget to mention them until someone else reminded them the band actually existed. Some of these bands will then be included in a controversial list that will need debating in the most anal way because there will be so many bands that don't deserve to be on the list. However the list will stand on it own merit and despite the bleating from the cheap seats where the noisiest arseholes echo loudly on the cold plastic the vote will take place. It will then all accumulate in Jimmy throwing a hissy fit, getting a migraine and quite possibly checking himself into a mental ward, but when the votes are counted Anthrax will come out with the win and Metallica will come in second.

Failing all that Jimmy will read all this, shake his head and walk away quietly hoping no one remembers he started a thread about it.

They're one of my top 10 all time thrash bands and i've mentioned that numerous times here. Their albums NEVER leave rotation for me. Like i said, ive been a bit clouded this week fucker
