Beer

A bar near me still had Pumking on tap so I totally had that last night. I think it tastes better on tap. Also tried New Belgium's salted Belgian chocolate stout which was very good as well. It had a pretty good punch to it, and delivered on a subtle chocolate taste which is preferable to the over the top fake chocolate flavors found in some brews.

I hate that ridiculous dollar store chocolate taste, too. But a really good chocolate stout, for me anyway, is one of the greatest pleasures in my life. Next to punching wallabies. Fuck wallabies.

a few of us are on Untappd

Had Hangar 24's Pugachev's Cobra last night. Holy fuck. It's been a while since I've had it, but I remembered why I love it so goddamn much. It might be my favorite bourbon barrel aged stout. Clocks in at an ass kicking 18.4% if I remember correctly. So delicious

Do you live near Redlands? I've tried a few Hangar 24s there but not that one specifically. I'll keep an eye out, or is it only at their brewery?

Samuel Smith's Winter Ale tonight, very good, complex. Although I just cracked open a Lagunitas Rich Copper Ale right after it, I might enjoy this one even more.

Had a 2XMAS last night from Southern Tier. It's like a cinnamon beer. It's pretty solid for the holidays. Also had my first Fat Tire. Did not care for it but it was due to a lack of options.

yeah it's a pretty steep price. I can get an equally if not better four pack for cheaper. That being said, Ten Fidy is still a solid RIS.

It's a challenge to finish while it's still cold, which I love.

Give it a few minutes, most stouts usually taste better when they warm up a little.

... might just be the maltiest offering i've had from Lagunitas ... good stuff.

Tonight I had Spencer's trappist ale. Spencer is the only trappist brewery/abbey in America. Their beer is a Belgian style single or patersbier. It's fantastic. It's nothing mindblowing, but it's just an easy drinking, delightful Belgian style ale

Aztec Sacrifice tonight. Bought it because I saw a fellow metalhead buying it at the liquor store. I asked him if it was good and he was raving about it.

First thing it did when I opened the bottle was sacrifice itself all over my damn floor. Hate when beers do that lol. What remains IS good though.
