Best gore/horror film you've seen

I'd highly recommend Redneck Zombies for a film that will do things to you.
It was filmed on shitty VHS, has a soundtrack made up of keyboard drones that sound like they were also recorded to shit quality tape, awful acting and a generally ridiculously low budget feel, but the film legitimately has some incredibly strange and powerful energies about it.

It's neither a "gore" movie or a "horror" movie in terms of what it does to you, but it encompasses both of those.
But yeah, I'd highly recommend at least downloading it, those few of you that will love it will want to buy it straight away.

There are some japanese b-movies that have some awesome gore scenes, but are incredibly boring to watch as a whole. Actually I could say that about 99% of horror movies. I hate how they have to be at least 1:20 long, when they clearly would be much better with 30 or 45 minutes.

The Machine Girl, Ichi The Killer, Tokyo Gore Police and Robot Geisha are good examples. You better download them and just watch on fast foward, skipping the non-gore parts.

In terms of raw violence (not gore) I really enjoyed the movies Uwe Boll did in 2009. Darfur, Stoic and Rampage are good. Specially Rampage.

^this...

i actually prefer these films because most of them are actually great, watchable films... instead of just being a novelty "shock-film."

also, a film like audition... where it has a great story but it is also freaking psychotic.

I thought Funny Games was awesome (I only saw the American version, but it was still seriously disturbing considering the amount of gore).

in the mouth of madness was great... it's weird how hp lovecraft stories never make the real adaptation.

I think it is because Hollywood has never made a true attempt at it. Unless I am mistaken the only ones made have been by grade b actors/directors--although I did enjoy Re-Animator

Alot of people dn't get audition but I think it's pretty amazing.

In the mouth of madness is fucking ridiculously awesome! hahahaha.

So I just watched Antichrist and I, um, hmm......WTF did I just watch

I realy loved that super creepy atmosphere the movie had all the time.
Its like a diabolic aura sorrounding you while watching.

If you let that movie get in your head, its so fucking psycho.

And then the gore hits in...so its realy a WTF movie!!!!

I had the feeling that this movie realy opened a door, to the dark side of the soul

I bought Antichrist and Martyrs just based on the DVD covers. I hadn't even heard of the movies before I saw them in the shop (bought Martyrs early this year, Antichrist fairly recently) and absolutely love them.
Watched Martyrs with a chick friend of mine, and she was absolutely shitting herself the entire way through
I watched a Norwegian film on TV a little while ago, "Naboer" (translates to Next Door) and 2 hours after it ended, I still felt incredibly uncomfortable.
A South Korean film called "A Tale of Two Sisters" is another one I highly enjoyed. One of those film that just stuck in my brain way after I watched it.
The Americans, of course, had to make a remake of it, which I know will probably entirely suck. It's called "The Uninvited", so if you see it on the shelf, just bypass it, and grab the original South Korean film instead.
