Best gore/horror film you've seen

Redneck Zombies is really bad quality yeah, but it only serves to add to the atmosphere. I defy anyone to say the tobacco man scene isn't eerie as fuck.

VHS QUALITY NIGGAS

I thought Funny Games was awesome (I only saw the American version, but it was still seriously disturbing considering the amount of gore).

The original Austrian version was the most brutal movie I ever saw. It was the first time, that someone asked me to quit the movie and watching some spongebob instead.

The most brutal element of this movie is the silence. The silence killed me.

I believe the original isn't Austrian but Australian am I right? I only saw the US version, at first I was like "what piece of crap did I just watch" and then I slowly went "wait a second that was pretty cool after all"

Se7en is the first film in this thread that ive actually seen. Its really good!

Awesome isn't it?!

I know its not really jumpy or scary, just a decent, dark film to watch. Reminds me ALOT of Saw.

August Underground: Mordum is probably the most disturbing film I've EVER watched. Its so horrible. I cant explain it. Its been taking to court a few times because of certain scenes. They wern't 100% clear if it was a snuff film or not. You'll be happy to know its not. Still, you wouldn't know that without doing a bit of research.

See I dig general horror movies...though most of the modern ones I find uber boring and predictive....however im not really into the disturbing and massively brutal bootleg snuff style stuff.

I like a good radio between plot/gore/violence/minge

Yeah wasn't Cannibal Holocaust one of those films that were also taken to court about certain scenes so they had to actually prove how they did parts to show that it was indeed fake?

Can someone please define the genres we are talking about here?

Gore (or splatter) to me is something like Braindead which I don't find brutal at all. It's so obviously not really that I don't know how someone could take it seriously or be afraid after watching it.

Horror...well that are the kinds of films that freak you out but they don't need to be violant to do that.

From what I've read here some of the movies mentioned seem to be gore and horror at the same time.
