This has probably been done a lot before at some point and is probably pretty cliche but whatever. What are your favorite bands from all of the basic subgenres?

Heavy: Mercyful Fate
Power: Blind Guardian
Doom: Solitude Aeturnus
Sludge: Acid Bath
Thrash: Sodom
Speed: Venom
Death: Entombed
Black: Darkthrone

Heavy- Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, King Diamond (and MF) (can't decide)

Power- Savatage, Memento Mori (both good)

Doom- Candlemass, Black Sabbath (if they count) (can't decide)

Funeral Doom- Esoteric, Thergothon, Wormphlegm, Skepticism (can't decide)

Drone- Jesu, Boris

Sludge- Paranaut

Melodic Death- Soilwork,

Brutal Death- Pyaemia

Death- Bolt Thrower, Carcass

Tech. Death- Suffocation, Anata

Black- Burzum, Summoning, Xasthur, Mater Tenebra, Necrophobic (sorry)

Thrash- Sodom (hands down)

Avantgarde anything(basically stuff that isn't correctly one thing)- Demilich, Lykathea Aflame
