People, people, you need to stop taking Misanthrope seriously. Anyone doing so is just wasting energy and being stupid, despite the humour potential. Besides, for once I agree with him. Shadows Fall is uninspired and boring.

You cant help but take him serious if he calls you a 'fucking moron'. That's what Im taking offense to... it's not neccesary behaviour, and seen as though firefest9 seemed pretty offended Id say he didnt mean it in Jest. Im not wasting energy over it, but I do think something should have been said. I hope this doesnt turn into one of those crazy flame wars. I agree their album isnt one of the best this year; but still, theres some great mellodies (all be it they are often stolen form In flames' early stuff), beat downs and vocal hooks that really get me going.

Ok, here is the thing. I actually thought everybody in this fourm was very friendly till i met Misanthope. I post on here very infrequently (i post alot on Dan Swano and hypocrisy). Even though he doesnt like Shadows Fall, he needs to understand we are all here because of one reason. We are ALL dark tranquillity fans.

With that said, Why dont many people on this forum like Shadows fall? are they "too comerical" because they have sold 100,000 copies of The War Within? whats the deal?

They're boring. Their riffs aren't interesting, the singer is average at best and they are simply boring. Liked them for a week, got bored. Commerciality has nothing to do with it. End of story.

They've been touring with CoB. I havent seem them but a friend, who is very easily entertained, said they were boring.. that means something to me. Well, his taste also sucks so maybe they're good after all.. uuhh whatever

I`ve heard the war within, it was ok but I didnt bought it
but I have no problem that they sold a lot of copies.
a metal band with her music is good to the scene and their music isnt very commercial
just a lot of people liked it
so theres nothing wrong with them

I saw a similar post on the general metal posting here on ultimate metal. Everbody on the post didnt care for Shadows Fall one bit. Thought mabye the same feeling was here on DT.

@kc; @firefest: first impact with misanthrope is often a bit of a bumpy ride. you'll get used to that. he's one of my favourite posters ever.

anyway, i think shadows fall are pretty generic, but that's only my opinion.

I stand by firefest9. I like Shadows fall. If you've got problem enough with that to express distaste toward some one then you needsome fucking help. Shadows fall are a Fucking Awesome Live band and all their albums are sweet 'IMO' (<like I have to remind you of that).

Generic is a compliment. Try "typical talentless hardcore kids that cant write music and resort to copying other bands, that by accident found an inflames cd and decided "yes we will play this!"
