It's been priorly stated, and accepted, that blackened death metal as a fusion genre can apply to any band that mixes whatever ratio of the two genres.

Meh, there are some bands I would argue being staples of the subgenre. 1349, Bloodthorn and Belphegor off the top of my head for example. Why not say black metal with some death influence?

Pluralitas non ponenda est sine necessitas (Occam's Razor).

And 1349, while it has trace influences of death metal, doesn't have them to the degree that they can be classified as blackened death metal.

World Ov Worms is better than most Behemoth albums, but Behemoth has released a couple albums superior to anything Zyklon put out.

Huh? ZKC was probably the last fully "blackened death" album by the band, but the last two are blackened to an extent as well

You think? I think ZKC sounds like a typically Polish dm album. Perhaps it sounds like a slightly more evil version of Vader. I know ZKC pretty well. It's my favorite Behemoth album, and I used to spin it all the time.

oops ninjaed

Yeah it's a fucking good album regardless. Very solid.

Also, I didn't even notice Abominator on the list above, but they are cool. Nuctemeron Descent is a fun black/death album.

All I have is disIntegrate. It's fine, but doesn't compare.

World ov Worms is light-years ahead of that album. I highly recommend it if you like industrialish blackened death metal.

I hear it mostly in the aesthetic and atmosphere, rather than in the music itself.

Give it a closer listen, there are some stylistic instances, but nothing consistent in the scope of the whole album. Give me a couple minutes to point some out.

I dunno...don't have much industrialish blackened death metal...

Anyhow. Not saying there aren't stylistic instances. Just that there's a constant BM atmosphere on the whole album. Also, on the Apostasy.

OK, on "Before the Aeons Came" Nergal uses just his BM vocals, certainly a vestige of their earlier days, and you can hear that in the instrumentation as well. But the rest of the album, musically, is straight death metal.
