Abominator!!!! aAAAARRRRGGGGGG!! was talkin to Andrew Undertaker recently at the Immortal gig, checkout Funeral Urn I think its called, sounds like Abominator might've split cause he was talking this band up!! cool thread btw Anatomy, please make another album!!

I disagree. The have the occasional song like Triangular Tattvic Fire which is thrashy but DM is by far the stronger influence. If anything, there are songs on Emissaries which are almost entirely DM.

Melechesh are rather nebulous in terms of definition. But who really cares, since their music is awesome. For the record, M-A lists them as "Black/Death/Middle-Eastern Folk Metal". Try finding any other band that fits that description.

It came out in '06, but yeah, it's kick-ass. Sphynx is amazing, but lacks the production that make Emissaries such a powerful album.

Woops...it did come out in '06, my bad. Sphynx and Djinn are also cool, but I agree with you on the production of Emissaries being much better. "Rebirth Of The Nemesis" is one of my preferred tracks in this particular genre.

Dead Congregation would fit on that list. Definitely blackened death. Their CD is really starting to click with me now. A couple of the members are in a bm band called Burial Hordes, who are worth checking out as well.
