Best second wave Black Metal band

Ulver is overall my favourite band there, but for sheer weight of 2nd wave quality I went with Burzum.

funny thing is, NM is one of their weakest releases

The riffs in Nattens Madrigal are fucking awesome, and the production just gives it the edge a release of this kind needs. It's a fucking amazing album.
Anyway I admit not being familiar with their post-NM stuff, just listened some of it and didn't like it so I didn't bother to dig deeper into it.

I agree. And "Bergtatt" is amazing too.

Emperor. In the Nightside Eclipse is just brilliant. 'Tis a shame Carpathian Forest aren't up there on that list, 1349 too. And well... I don't really like Burzum because of Varg. Mayhem are good, I need to listen to more Darkthrone because I haven't had the opportunity really.. Immortal are great, and I haven't really listening to Ulver, Marduk or Dissection.

Marduk and Satyricon being on there but Gorgoroth not = wtf. Pentagram is one of the best second wave albums period. Would probably still go Burzum for HLTO though.
