FINALLY setting up my new drumkit... good that thing looks sexy

Best of all, I actually got to play it hehe

Here's some teaser pics, I'll take proper shots when I move it to an area that I can actually get in front of the drums haha

I need to give it a name... currently forerunner is either "Jolly Green Giant" or "Gamblor"

No reason for the second name, I just like it haha

What type of kit is it? And specs, wood type/plies etc. etc. etc. drumwank

The snare IS phat! haha Mapex Black Panther Babylon Edition, it's 1 of only 20 in the country

The kit is a Mapex M-Birch in "Black Forest Green"
8,10,12,14,16 floating toms
22x18 (I think) bass drum
(Came with a snare but I'm not using it)


Pedals are Trick Pro1-V double pedals. The most expensive individual part of the kit haha

All cymbals are Sabian

I had setting my old kit up down to a science. I could have done it in my sleep... working with this rounded tubes is, interesting to say the least

That kit looks killer! Setting up drums is a BITCH! Especially having to mic them up etc. oh god imagine that... that's what i'm going to be doing for the rest of my life...

Sound guys are gonna scream when they see my kit... theres about a 2 inch gap between the splash, ride and crash to mic up the third tom haha

The set is mic'able, I just have to tweak the positioning of the cymbals around that tom. It's just a shame that it's such a natural position

Mind you, down the track I plan on buying my own mic set so that I can just say to the sound guy "where's the leads?" haha
