Breaking Bad

It's hard to even imagine that this is the same show we were watching last season. All the humor is gone, with Walt switching gears from a loving family man wanting to provide, to a hardened spirit who holds little regret in his deeds.

Indeed. It's like Sopranos only better and the main character is more complex

The fact that none of the characters did anything rash to tie off the season was a breath of fresh air. Usually shows go over the top with a heavily dramatized cliff hanger. Breaking Bad kept it real in the OPP.

Walt didn't come clean with Skylar
Jesse didn't off himself.
Jane's Dad didn't seek retribution.
The cartel didn't come from right field with inadequate build(assuming they'll play a big role in S03)

They remained true to the morose tempo of the previous episodes while aiming for a realistic and sensible conclusion.

Kudos

Watched the first six episodes last night. This show is pretty fucking ace.

"Dad, you're acting like a Pussy"

Just made it through the first season and first episode of season 2! Grand show.

I find it awesome how throughout the show he's trying to avoid his DEA in-law, but at the same time he's helping him. Killed two in season one, and had a helping hand in two others deaths in SE2E1. Haven't yet seen what happens with Tuco yet, but I'm pretty excited to watch.

Only started watching this recently - heard tons about how ace the show was, so I went ahead and downloaded both seasons a few weeks ago. Piled through every episode in about five days. Can't say enough good things about Cranston - he knocks it out of the park in every scene. As for whoever mentioned the cinematography - yep, definitely one of the most interestingly-shot shows on TV. Any love for that episode opening with the Mexican music video describing the cartel's increasing unrest about the Heisenberg situation?
