Bulldogs are out....

Well i was there. A concentrated section of the Bulldog army, threw water bottles onto the ground, directed at the Raider player, who was taking an eternity to line up a friggin' penalty kick to waste time in the last minute. I'd say there was no more than 10 bottles thrown. As usual, the media exaggerates the facts.

Ah, I only saw it on the news, and they made it look like they were throwing the bottles at guys like Luke Patten, and Willie Mason told them to stop.

On a lighter note, I'm sure there's a stack of tickets for the grand final for sale now :)

"Their comeback was cut short with a penalty to the Raiders in the final minute converted by Clinton Schifcofske, but not before he was pelted with rubbish by Bulldogs' supporters."

As reported by one media source. The 'rubbish' (see above post) hardly even travelled into the in goal area. Some 15-20 metres away from the Raider player. So much for being 'pelted'.

Yeah, i guess because the Raider guy was almost directly in front of the posts, and with the Bulldogs were in the in-goal area, very close to where the Bulldogs supporters were. It may have looked like they were throwing them at their own team, but that was not the case. The dogs fans gave great support for their team, but they were real pissed with the time wasting tactics by the raiders. But that's football, and im sure the dogs would do the same thing if they were in the lead with a minute to go.

The Bulldogs' fans are one of the reasons why I decided not to go to the grand final this year, because if they lost then I wouldn't want to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Oh, and the fact that I'm broke sort of contributed to it as well.

Still, I caught a bus full of Parramatta fans last year back to my hotel and survived... dunno how I would have done if I was wearing blue and red, though :)

Still the one positive, was that the Bulldog army chanted "Woolfords a wanker" Woolford is the Raiders captain, who said he didnt want to play the dogs or have them kicked out or something like that. And Mark O'Meley gave him a good elbow to the head for his troubles too.

I think there is a part of the Bulldogs fans that can get too emotional, but its not like they cause riots every weekend. Those problems were sorted out at the start of the 2001 season.

The majority dogs fans (me included) are vocal but well behaved. But of course the media never show that do they?

That's an extremely ignorant thing to say. I am a Bulldogs fan - what have you heard about ME?

Sorry dude - I shouldn't have generalised. It's just that I'm never too impressed to see abusive fans on the news smashing up trains and abusing people, that's all. I'm not saying all Dogs fans are like that, but the minority that are don't give you a good name. Blame them for any damage to your reputation!

Thanks mate. The problem with a section of the Bulldogs army, is that there is a gang mentality, amongst the young men of a certain ethnicity who reside in the canterbury-bankstown area.

That gang mentality does not apply to the majority of bulldogs fans.

Dave it was good game huh , how about poor old "Victa the Viking " the Bulldog Army started chanting Victa's a Wanker , pretty funny I thought . Did you stay much after the final whistle Willie Mason came out and sighed stuff for the Fans . Sam my middle boy & I went up into the corporate area after the game , he got 13 or so Raiders sigs on his jumper very proud boy indeed.

Ah yep, I getcha......I can probably guess the ethnicity too. Is there any way for the club or the police or anyone to crack down on them?
