Man I was piss drunk in this thread and just in a mood to argue, I'm sorry.

I obviously love black metal just not this endless swarm of clones that have made the genre predictable, formulaic and cheesy.

well I'm in the same boat when it come to black metal. sure, at times I can put on some random generic, obscure band and enjoy it to the extent that I do...but it's not too remarkable to repeat.

I eat way more food than I listen to black metal, so this is a no-brainer for me.

I think mid paced black metal is best.

Depends. I love the slow burzum stuff but its pretty hard to deny the faster Mayhem and Negura Bunget bits. All depends on the atmosphere.

just dont like the feeling I get from them. the pure black metal parts are pretty cool. Then they go into the signature sound. and that turns me off.

The Dordeduh (band made up by the members that left) EP that was recently released is pretty awesome too.
