Children of Bodom, one of the most successful and internationally acclaimed Finnish metal bands, have signed a three album extension to their deal with Spinefarm Records. CoB's next album "Are You Dead Yet?" will be an international priority release for Universal Music, who will release the album worldwide before the end of October 2005. In Finland "Are You Dead Yet?", which is the band's fifth full-length album, will be released on the 14th of September.

This Fall Children of Bodom will first tour in Australia and Japan, in November-December they will continue their tour in the States, and head to Europe after Christmas.

As Theo Roos, the head of Universal Music Scandinavia and Benelux, said after hearing about the extended deal: "We are very excited and happy that Children of Bodom have decided to (re)sign for a longer time with our Spinefarm label for the world!"

Why would this be great news? What are the benefits of Spinefarm compared to Universal? Don´t they get more promotion if they´re with Universal?

Universal bought Spinefarm recently.
