COBOT: the Album

I so strongly agree with the last thing you said, I had the same thing. This is the first composition I ever finished and it certainly stimulated me to make more since it has a nice feeling to have finally finished something :p
I think later on I'll write something about each song too :)

Too bad you're only 10 to listen to it.
Yeah hopefully Warheart's will be uploaded very soon.

Ohhhh wow! I listened to it... it's AAAAAMAAAAZING!!! :kickass: :)

EVERYONE played so differently but SO well, I liked everyone's originality, it's great to hear so many differences of style and playing and so on... differences are what makes us all richer in life, somehow... and also the album cover is nice... congrats everyone!

Thanks dave100 and everyone who participated for doing this CoB-OT album, I love these kind of things, like I love the forum jams whenever they were made.

Oh, and a special congrats to Mystique: you keep getting better ar guitar, girl... you should be very proud of yourself, keep the good work up.

Again, congrats everyone, and thanks!!

Glad to see you like it

^^Thanks and indeed, I was really surprised by Mystiques song. Really good!

Yeah , especially the riff at 0:57 i love it :kickass:

01. Lowberg - I heard this a while ago and I love it. I think I love the vocals the most, I think the pre chorus riff (similar to BBT) and the chorus riff is AWESOME. The part where you scream FUCK YOU really sounds damn cool. The outro "speech" is also hilarious. You're my new hero. :kickass:

My solo was cool at first because I wrote it at 120, but I didn't know I had to play 16th tripets at 145bpm, so I was sweating while playing that, I tell ya!

02. Flappy - This intro is AMAZING. The tone and note choice is just so powerful. The rest of the song is great too, I like the key changes (I think they were) during all that open string work, nice stuff!

03. Ensi - I really like the during the second half of the song and there's a bit after that reminds me of Stone, it's cool. The intro is very random and makes me think of your crazy ass posts. :Smokin:

04. Mystique - That fast thrash thing was so unexpected but in a positive way!! I was sitting here all calm during the intro and then that neo-classic type thing came in. The composition and tone reminds me of Something Wild alot.

05. Tim Merrick - Another rifftastic intro! Kinda reminds me of Arch Enemy a tiny bit. The little ending part at 02:10 was really cool, I might have to figure that out. :p

06. Jose - So, you finally wrote your song with this title, huh? And this is a great black metal style piece, I didn't know what to expect from you since I've only ever heard you play COB before! But it's very cool, the fast "verse" riff is headbangable with those drums! Sounds like you got Kerry King to play your guest solos too! :kickass:

07. JMBullet & CrazyChris - I didn't like it at first but after listening to it for a while, the verse parts seemed to grow on me. There's some nice chord progressions in there.

08. Dave - I definitely feel this needed some vocals, but the music itself had no flaws. I did like the way it had progressivly has more leads nearer the end, and a kind of build up and then a fade out, which went to a cool clean guitar part.

Overall, what a GREAT album and such a fun project. I think this is the third composition I've EVER finished. So if it wasn't for this, I would have never been motivated to do anything like this and I'd love to do another one sometime in the near future, hopefully all the people that actually say they'll do it will actually post again.

09. Mitch - Such an amazing song! Full of incredible solos! I love how the keys and guitar do duets and shizz!

This album has inspired me to kick my writing up a gear! I'm gonna just forget all about studying for the next few weeks, till this album wears off :D

I've updated the first post and the download post with Mitch's direct download link. (click the picture in the first post to get to it). :kickass:

DAMN! The melody tries to talk with me.... wait...it is saying....this...album's...epicness....attracts....labels....and...COBOT...becomes.....mainstream...tomorrow?

My thoughts:

1. Lowberg - Your song is definitely my favorite. Excellent composition, vocals, and playing. That ending is priceless! You should be a one-man band, dude. :worship:

2. Flappy - Very well done. Your technique is flawless, and your tone enhances the overall sound well.

3. Ensi - I'd already heard the song from when you posted it before, but it still made me laugh. Great opening, awesome evil voice, and sick solos! Loved it. :kickass:

4. Mystique - Kickass intro piece! The organs were totally unexpected, but I loved it. The transitions were very well done throughout the song, and the thrash-groove feel worked very well. Keep on doing what you're doing, because it's really good!

5. Tim - Be proud of your song, man! Awesome riffs, kickass solo, and great transitions! Your overall songwriting ability blew me away. Great job! One of my other favorites.

6. COCOB - Damn good song! The distortion on your rhythm guitar track gives a classic thrash feel to the song, and that double bass just pushes everything. And those solos! Like Mitch said, you got your Slayer on for this song. Also, sorry Ensi, but this is the best song title on the album.

7. Dave - First off, thank you for bringing this together! For your song, I really like the variations in the composition. You kept it interesting while maintaining a solid structure. Fantastic solos too! Best songwriting skills on the album, IMO. :D

8. Warheart - How did you fit so much shredding into that short of a period of time? I am blown away, man. I don't know if this was your intention, but your song reminds of the best parts of old-school thrash, with tasteful symphonic bits added at the best parts. Great job.

I'm proud to have been part of this amazing project, and humbled to be in the company of such skilled musicians. Awesome job, everyone! This was a complete success. When do we start album #2?

Wow! Everybody's songs were awesome! Great Job guys! (and gals, Twisha haha)! Thanks for the nice feedback! Just wanted to mention to those who may not know, Mr. Mitch (Warheart) composed and played the ripping ending solo at 4:25 in my song. Shred on!
