What's the opinion here on Portal? As close as metal can get to being riffless IMO.
I think they suck.
Never heard of them.

Not a fan of Portal. Even taking for granted that they are supposed to be atmospheric and texture-y and shit, I don't find the atmosphere very compelling.

Plenty of bands can create the same texture and actually have melodies/phrases/motifs in there too, so yeah, they're talentless hacks.
Being a bm-fan and not owning every single Bathory-album and buying new shit like random DSBM, some Mgla albun or other hipster shit or something is pouserdom incarnated. </fanboy rant>
Hey, what's wrong with Mgla? They're pretty good. Obviously Bathory is better but still.

Nothing is wrong with Mgla. Good BM but Bathory all sounds the same so how can you say that band is better? At least Mgla is unique
Under the sign of the black mark sounds so much like Hammerheart.
I own the latest Mgla release
Sorry, I meant Bathory brings nothing to the table.

I really don't get this Bathory hate at all. I'm sorry but Under the sign of the black mark is pretty much black metal perfection and is easily more enjoyable than any Norwegian black metal album.
