Controversial opinions on metal

My friend and I watched the Dio DVD with some guitarist, dunno his name, but we called him Squealy. Pinch harmonics everywhere. It was really annoying. He'd be shredding and then "weeeeeeee"

"Over the Mountain" and "Little Dolls" were pretty awesome. I don't remember enough about the other songs, just that they didn't grab me enough on first listen.

Zack Wylde's early material with BLS and his stuff with Pride and Glory is good

Pride and Glory is good, I'll agree with that.

Best pinch harmonic use: Malignancy - Cross Species Transmutation. Read my friend's review:

I had to listen to that in the car all the way to Nashville. While it was good the first listen through the pinch harmonics really started making me homicidal after about the third run through.

Well, I'd give it a listen to let you know, but apparently that's one of the few tracks last.fm doesn't have for him.

Ozzy bores me to tears...though I do like Randy Rhoades.

Zakk Wylde's guitar tone is horrible, as is his playing. (I don't know if this is controversial, though...)

Necrophagist (as does most tech-death) makes me want to sleep. (Though I'm still being dragged along to see them live in about a month)

I can't stand Entombed even though I really tried to get into them.

1 - Same here
2 - Agreed
3 - Necrophagist = Awesome tech death. Would love to see them playing live.
4 - Don't care about them tbh
