I for one think At The Gates are greatly overrated. Its just boring neo-thrash. The sound every band would try to adopt in the late 90'ies. Just boring with nothing exceptional.

It is the only Dark Tranquillity era I enjoy, though it is not groundbreaking material by any means.

The only Dark Tranquility album I enjoy the whole way through is Projector. All the other albums have a few good songs but not enough to make me wanna buy them.

Agreed. Also, Lost to Apathy was the first extreme metal song I heard.

I don't knock Dark Tranquillity's later material; I actually think their latest is very good. However, I cannot fathom how people think The Gallery is bad. It's not the most accessible record by any means, and I think it takes patience and effort to discover the subtleties of the music; but I still think it's their best release.
