I think Crimson is really good but that Crimson II was very "meh".

Crimson is great but Purgatory Afterglow is such a hit and miss album. Some tracks are great, others are just painful to listen to. Black Tears is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, it's such a blatantly cheesy melodeath song, but really fun.

Also, imo the best Sodom album is their s/t.

C'mon man. The self-titled album is good, but it's nowhere their 80's-90's albums. Listen to Agent Orange or Tapping The Vein again and you'll get it.

That brings one thing to my mind, how come Tapping The Vein is so underrated? I think it's a great fucking album.

Coming from someone who takes issue with maybe 1/100 albums heard, I need to say that the production on the s/t Sodom is absolutely horrid. I've never heard a worse guitar tone, and when you put it in something like car speakers, the mix just completely falls apart. Don't say "but it's thrash". Nothing else they have sounds so bad..

Bad production can be ok. It'd doesn't necessarily ruin an album. Deathcult for Eternity has horrible production, and it's one of my top five favorite albums. I checked out Hail for the first time yesterday. The production is terrible, but I still liked it.

- Cryptopsy's "The Unspoken King" is a great album
- Sunn 0))) isn't metal, to me it's just noise or someone tuning a bass
- Black Sabbath bores me
- There exists good death metal that wasn't released in the 90s
- Unleashed sucks

- Iron Maiden are repetetive; they've made some stand-out tracks(Fear of the dark for example), but otherwise they all blend together

- Goregrind, Pornogrind and such genres are pretty schweet

Maiden own and are very varied. Hetfield should stay the fuck away from music in general. Sabbath obviously own. Roots and Soulfly blow.
