i think i will pay RAN (1280€) for making my next guitar!
the price is what he told me after delivering the sheet.

firstly i want to say, i'm in love with the sound of the wildchild guitar, so i'll look forward to choose the same wood, pickups, ... as it

now which wood to take for
1) the body? am i right alder is the right one for shredding guitars like the wildchild one?
2) the fingerboard?
3) the headstock?

which pickup? as the jackson J-50BC isn't produced any more... seymour duncan ones?

and the most important question: which body shape? Jackson RR or ESP SV?

the only PRO i have to give is for the sv, because of the cutout of the body near the higher frets, but what do ya lot say? is there any other difference between the 2 shapes?

thanks for answers, greez...

it doesn't matter because jackson makes the fretboard begin at a higher point so the access is still the same.
alder body, ebony fretboard
go for the EMG-81, you dont want passive emg's. I personally have EMG 81 and 85 and they're great.

firstly, thanks
are emg really great? and.. are the active ones really SO much better? i dont want to place batteries in my guitar if there's not much difference...?

Well, these things are all matters of opinion but I find that high output pickups such as the EMG 81 sound too harsh when coupled with heavy distortion. If you want a defined and rich heavy tone (unlike Bodom's tone), go for a medium output passive pickup. If you want an EMG, use an 85 in the bridge rather than an 81 and you will have a much beefier tone. Then again, if you want razorsharp treble like Bodom, go for an 81. You don't have to replace the batteries often.

putting batteries in is an easy task, and you barely have to change them. Ive had the same battery in mine for over a year now, and no problems.

you're in love with the sounds from a shitty guitar? thats got to be the gayest thing i've read all day, and i've read posts from jesse-

well we talk about his old jackson which was stolen... not the new fukkin esp?
secondly you are gay

i would put x2n's in all my guitars before i ever put emg's in it... can get just as hot of a tone from an x2n as an emg, without needing batteries, and you don't get the same stale tone in each guitar like you do with emg's. the preamp colors the tone so much it doesn't allow the natural tone of the body wood to come out.

Sorry Elysian, I think he was talking about the black Jackson with the yellow bevels and wildchild sticker.

you are right

alright sorry, that is a much better guitar than the SV... i personally would get a guitar built similar to how i have my rhoads set up, although, mine has no trem, so you probably want that, get it with an OFR. and since that jackson pickup isn't made anymore, honestly i would look into an X2N. get the hotness of an emg without the battery, and without the staleness. i've got 2 guitars with an x2n in them, and i'm about to have more, since dimarzio is releasing the x2n for 7 strings... the body should be alder, with a rosewood fingerboard and maple neck, neck through of course, and 24 frets.

well that x2n sounds good, any sound-samples online?
and if ill let make a little cutout but not as big as the esp? i like that (optically, haven't played it yet)

greez

25.5... there might be samples on dimarzio.com, but you can listen to some of the stuff on my myspace, http://www.myspace.com/AdamBath nov 16th riff and pestilition hammence use the rhoads v with x2n.

as for the esp cutout, there really is no reason for it, besides to make it look different from a regular rhoads v. 24 fret rhoads v's have about the same amount of access to the frets as the esp one with that cutout, as the esp's body actually starts higher up on the fretboard then the Rhoads.

well the x2n sounds quite good...
why not cut it out additionally, or make it like the esp body (i like that shape)? whats against it?
sorry for asking like that, i just want to know
