Opeth? Black Metal? LOL The only reasonable connection I see between Opeth and black metal is the atmosphere in a few Orchid songs. But even still, the Orchid atmosphere fails compared to some select black metal bands'.

Anyway, I'm not saying something that hasn't been said before. You can't really go wrong with Zyklon, Myrkskog, Dawn,Akercocke (esp. the new one), and two words: "The Somberlain"

youre twisting what i said. we need to meet somewhere in the middle. my argument was against the statement that opeth was completely original from the start. i was expressing how they put a different spin on the same swedish soundeveryone else was doing. i wasnt trying to state that opeth was just another swedish death clone band, but also not really THAT innovative until MAYH, etc.
