Primitiv is quite catchy and fun. (Also may one of the few, if not the first, death metal bands I've heard from India.)
Narsil is another great Indian DM band.

Nice, thanks for the recommendation. (Their EP is up on ReverbNation for anyone else curious. Good stuff, as long as you enjoy inhales/pig squeals.)
Supposedly they reformed in 2011, but I don't see any other releases. Guess it didn't work out?
That theory is utter bullshit. Extreme metal shows aren't banned anywhere. I've attended shows in 7 cities/towns personally (I'm Indian but don't live there anymore). Some of the band members went on to form Third Sovereign, who sound similar but aren't quite as good.
You've got to respect metal bands in India btw, it can't be easy. I was there a few months ago and Extreme Metal shows are banned pretty much everywhere - the only place you might be able to see a band play live is Bangalore.
It isn't a theory, I researched this when I was in Mumbai thinking I might be able to catch a show there. Find me a Death Metal or Black Metal show in India that isn't in Bangalore and I'll concede I'm wrong.
Fair enough. Although, don't expect to catch a metal show in any of those places. India in its entirety gets about 5-6 metal gigs in a year, on an average. Indian bands mostly only play at college festivals and as opening acts to bigger international bands. Club gigs by local bands are pretty much exclusive to Bangalore and Mumbai.Alright, fair enough man, I was using a shitty pay by the minute internet connection at the time which may have made my research a little limited in depth. Thinking of heading back in a few months time so I'll need to check some of those places out.
