Death Metal

More people need to check out the Sonne Adam full length. As if the new Necros Christos hadn't kicked my ass enough, then this one comes along! And the previously mentioned Blaspherian full length is fucking great too. I can see a lot of quality death metal releases making the top of my list this year.

I previewed 2 tracks and it sounds fucking killer. I've been listening to this band when Armed With Hammers was first released digitally.

The new Necros Christos album really is great stuff. I got in the mail yesterday and have already given it 5-6 listens. It isn't as "catchy" as the first album. The new one has a doomy, crushing atmosphere. The interludes on it actually feel like they're part of the album and not some annoying shit I want to skip. At this point I'm confident that I'll return to Doom of the Occult more than TIR a few years from now.

Bringing this thread back.

From Dark Descent:

Corpsessed - The Dagger and The Chalice

"Bone-jarring and chest-crushing; if death had a soundtrack, "The Dagger and the Chalice" would be it. Hailing from Finland, Corpsessed's brand of spine-tingling death metal will not disappoint. Six tracks, 24 minutes, "The Dagger and the Chalice" is pure death metal. No gimmicks, no keyboards, just rotten death metal the way it should be.

This release features an eight-page booklet on extra thick matte finish paper complete with art from Alexander "Bad News" Brown."

I can't stop listening to Altar of Worms. The songs on their myspace are killer as well. Anyone who likes Finnish death metal needs to pay attention to this band.
