Dissection

Dissection is an awesome band. I still wanna see them in concert. So far I've seen Monstrosity, Dimmu Borgir, Samael (don't care for their new stuff), King Diamond, Deep, and I'm going to be seeing Manowar and Immortal on the 24th of May. It's gonna be cool. My friend got backstage passes.
 
Dissection...interesting that the band was totally against the idea of ever even talking to Jon again (I believe one guy called him a "psycho") yet now that he's almost getting out, they are talking of getting back together....maybe someone saw th $$$$$ in the sky one night? Anyways, whatever the reasons for the reunion I'll be buying/seeing/worshipping anything with the Dissection label on it....
 
Dissection are one of the coolest bands ever, and Jon is a brilliant musician and a cool person (afterall, he killed a satanist-wannabe faggot; right)... Anyways, rumors says that Jon has new material ready after his release, so..... I definately look forward to that...

I should be easy on you actually, since you're probably 15, but just so you know, saying things like that just makes you look dumb. I might have said something similar at your age, so don't feel bad. I saw them live once and I knocked Jon nearly clean off his feet when I was on stage to stagedive .....oops. Big mistake.

If I was gay he would have killed me with his guitar strings.

I'm still gonna go and see them if they play live again though :grin:

There were evil forces involved in my Storm Of The Light's Bane cd... Damn thing just wouldn't get out of the cd player after I bought it. Been listening to it a bit lately as well. Great stuff.

Does it still come in a digi-pak?? I have no idea, but I guess not?!?
Almost seemed like it was standard for that CD.. all I saw was digi around and after the time it was released.

No exaggeration

It was possibly the most impressive thing I have ever seen. A truly life changing experience. Seriously. They were totally unlike anything I had ever seen live before and totally blew me away.

All was dark, and you could just make out the sillouhettes drifting across the stage and breaking up the smoke as they moved. The movement slowed to a halt and a deep and brooding intro began to groan out. All of a sudden the stage exploded with light as the strobe that was hidden inside the bass drum kicked into life and the place was amess with flailing hair and guitars. Then Jon's piercing wail cut through the myre and felled all in its path ......Dissection had appeared to me ...and I was smitten!

The music came across so well and I was just stunned for about a week afterwards. They were playing with At the Gates, which all in all made for a pretty fucking great gig.
 
I heard they gave Jon some equipment in his cell six or eight months ago for "good behavior", hopefully he has something done. I'll buy anything Dissection. When does he get out, anyway? He got 10 years (and Vlad 8), if I remember correct... That had to be around late '98. Unless my information was incorrect, we still have a long wait... Maybe the sentence was shortened or something...

Truly one of the best bands to have recorded music...

That live show that veil in the sky talked about would have been great...

When and where did you catch that gig anyway?

I have a live bootleg vid of a few shows that they did... One in New York, one in Ft. Lauderdale Florida and one in Germany...
