I'll still listen and I'll still go see them live if they ever come around again. Although I thought AYDY and HCDR were dogshit, and probably every album after that will be, that doesn't mean I can't still bask in the glory of Hatebreeder, Something Wild, and Follow the Reaper :headbang:

There's a LOT of bands I think are better though.

Am I the only one who answered "I love them, but I only listen to them every so often."? I see that I am, maybe I wasn't clear. "I love them, but I only listen to them every so often." means that, I love Bodom, I think they are amazing, they are my favourite band (in name) but I really don't listen to them that much anymore because well, there's nothing new and I've been listening to them since 2003 so I've just found a lot of other new stuff. I'll go like 3-6 months without listening to them at all, then when I start listening again I love it, and I just repeat the cycle. I'll still go see them live, and in my opinion, they are the best metal band in terms of having amazing songs (every song is pretty epic save for a few, but they're still good). I'm not saying other bands don't make better music, just in terms of hit after hit, no other band comes close.

I "love" them, but i really dont listen to it that much anymore, as heartless said, its sort of a phasing thing

What's cool about Bodom is they have the potential to make "perfect" music (imo) but something nearly always goes wrong in the production of the sounds for official releases.

I hope they considered a radical change to the vocals for the new album.

I still listen to them pretty often, but not as often as before. I'm kinda moving away from the melodic stuff and all the faggot metal (power metal), and listening to death metal more often, although there are a few melodic bands that I still like a lot, CoB being one of them.

edit:

Same here..

i hate the drum sounds

I love them, I don't listen to them everyday, but I do it quite often. Their albums never tire me off, and one of my favourites is AYDY...

You hate the drums sounds in COB in general, or were you referring to the TMR demo?

I think the mixing work in Are You Dead Yet? was heavily balanced on the drums. It would've turned out to be much better if they didn't forget about the guitars and keyboards.

We'll just have to wait 51 more days till we hear the single and find out what the sounds are like. Everything will be new.

just in terms of hit after hit, no other band comes close.

That's the deal. COB is the only band that I cannot see making average songs. Other bands maybe have that one good song on the album, and others are average and don't really interest.

I'll be honest I find them quite boring now, even some of the older stuff I get bored of. I've just found far more elaborate bands that suit my tastes more. Saying that, CoB will always have my respect as they were one of the first proper metal bands I listened to. I'm just hoping Blooddrunk is good enough to reinforce that respect somewhat.

Blooddrunk is vitally important to shine and be the metal release of the year, because AYDY was a disappointment, and between AYDY release and the release of a COB album that comes after Blooddrunk will be about 5-6 years. So yes, these 9 songs on Blooddrunk are very important to be great.

I feel the same, except I listen to them every week, almost everyday, usually when I get tired of one album then I pick up another one and it sounds good, sometimes I need to take a break for a month so I don't listen to them, well maybe a few random songs. So I answered I love them and listen everyday.
My favorite or second favorite band of all time. And I love every album, excluding a few songs, I almost never get tired of AYDY.
