doubting thomas

To my knowledge, no one on this forum (at least not the regulars) has blatantly lied. I think lying is more difficult to do on forums anyways as there is always a group of "locals" there who will remember your information and be suspicious if anything seems out of place. As for chats, there aren't any "records" there, so it is easier to do, but people still lie on forums... even the large ones which are more anonymous which brings me to...

don't you guys have links to threads where you feel people are pulling your leg?

rahvin.
*raises hand* I do. Not on UM, but somewhere else... and it was found out the person was lying a lot. Long story. I know at least two of them were truly lying (one majorly)... and there's another member (and possibly more) who I think are fooling with our minds as well.

I have links, but will have to rummage for most of them (as they disabled searching to cut bandwidth and maybe prevent members from trolling others' posts). :p

do you ever doubt the truthfulness of stories posted by other um users? have you ever thought how easy it is to lie - just lying, not trolling - in order to make an impression, without noone ever finding out for certain?

rahvin.

 do you mean that there are imposters in our midst?
omg i'm crushed. scarred for life!

@wildfyr: impostors are trolls, in a way. i meant regular people who exaggerate their experiences or come up with fake ones to impress. now, aren't you even more scarred than before? ;)

I'm really a 49 year old Roman Emperor come to the present age to find a cure for the insanity caused by lead piping. That will mean that the Roman Empire will NOT fall into chaos, there will not be a dark age, and we will live this day in a futuristic Utopia.
Damn, that'd make a good book :D

I knew it...if somebody in the forum was to be a hun come from the past in a time machine that would be you, tall and scary hun :Smug:

Thinking about it, Rahvin is Italian and therefore more likely to be the Roman....and seeing that I haven't shaved in a month and tend to wear lots of leather...
GASP! IT IS ME WHO IS THE HUN!

Well, I woulda got away with it too if it wasn't for you pesky kids...

Well is somebody could be a HUN that would be me imho :D
hun's sucked, they were hairy and sweaty, aztecs, on the other hand, performed bloody rituals and would have invented black metal if it wasn't for those nosey spaniards :bah:

Huns killed more people than the Nazi Party, and Stalin combined. Kublikhan used to make pyramids out of peoples heads, he made one out of 20,000 dead soliders heads actually. On his tomb stone it reads, "If I was alive today the world would tremble."

I am not hairy and sweaty
Btw are you guys referring to Attila the Hun for example? He was a great general imho and don't forget that in the old world If you haven't killed, you end up being killed...

Okay...I just stay a HUNgarian I think :D

so the reason why there's no more people from the old times alive is they didn't kill anybody? :p

anyway, i guess we're referring to someone like him, yeah. and clearly he was a great leader. :)
