2. I thought that violent, pornographic and other kinds of disturbing images aren't to be present on the civilized online boards (fucking avatar or a pic in the post - doesn't matter). Thus - interracial ass-ripping porn isn't allowed, see? Neither is any racist/nazi/fascist related graphics (as of my point of view).

oh ok... it certainly looks like it's hinting at it, though, because of the position the two symbols occupy in the picture.

about what's allowed and what's not: i don't want to have to probe through everyone's interpretation of the symbols/graphic/words they use, so i'm only going to sanction stuff that is blatantly in bad taste. pornography and thread titles such as "FUCK THIS OR THAT ETHNIC GROUP" fall into that category, because freedom of expression gives way to plain simple offense and - at times - even potentally illegal results. an avatar that expresses someone's desire to "say no" to a number of things, even if said things were some of the most endearing carebears of humanity, does not cross the line, in my opinion. on a metal board, i see images of torture, death, abuse, and various blasphemy day in and day out, and who knows what the users with cannibalistic dead people in their avatar might think. i'm not going to ask them, and i'm not going to ask erik to justify his choice.

for the record, this doesn't mean i agree in the least with any idea of ethnic cleansing of russia, sweden, italy, or jupiter.

I realised something then, I possitively discriminate loads of religions... like, I guess because Catholicism and Christianity is part and parcel of my immediate culture, I feel it's not in anyway taboo to disregard it almost violently as a religion... but although I might post upside down crosses around or funny anti christian adverts, I'd never ever do that for Muslims, Jews, Hindus or buddhists or whatever... cos it'd be racist right? Silly me. Anyway, Im awake now. Good thing.

it is natural to first oppose christianity when you live in western europe because after all it is the main problem around here, but when you think about it you start realizing that political correctness be damned, all three major semitic religions are really three weeds from the same root that share many of the same unpleasant characteristics. hindus or buddhists... not so much. i don't see them as a threat to anything i value.

anyone can start a thread about the heinous religious crimes of born-again swedish polar bears in heat. in fact, i'm pretty amazed such a vastly popular topic hasn't been tackled yet, in the years since this forum - explicitly dedicated to wildlife, local scandinavian politics, and the pope - opened its doors.

but i'm not going to split the posts in this thread to make a new one. those who feel offended or uneasy about erik's avvy wouldn't much like it if it got further first-page time (even though they pretty much shot themselves in the foot by commenting on it in the first place, as there's nothing funnier than keeping an avatar if it pisses off people, because we're rebels who challenge the establishment by only living by our own rules and staying up past curfew), and erik himself didn't really ask for all the publicity about his own convictions, which don't necessarily mean the time he's spent locked up.

Not "Russian scum" - "Russian cock-sucking RNE scum", where RNE stands for Russian National Union, radical fascist skinhead movement; all assuming you could read and understand Russian.

One last time to explain myself: with that sign - "Keep your country clean/pure" - your avatar has a "fascist" (for a lack of better word) meaning (and a 6 point star over the trashcan.... whatever is in there already - that could be just an excuse). Without the sig on it - I couldn't care less, but all combined - it caught my attention, and assumptions and insults followed.

Still I think to be concerned versus any religion (race, nationality, sexual orientation) in common is stupid.

@rahvin: and polar bears are #1 threat to human, not grizzlies, crocos, lions or wolves - whit ebears are the most dangerous animal, according to statistics btw :)
