Emotional metal

Actually, joshery aside, I really find Anathema - Eternity and My Dying Bride - The Dreadful Hours to be properly "emotional" / "introspective". The Dreadful Hours is one of those lights off, listen to in the dead of night kind of albums. Killer title track, too.

Xasthur, that really can't described as emotional. You barely can depict that with the muddy production, but the screaming can be intense though.
That's why I said newer Xasthur. A Curse for the Lifeless has very good production. Anyway, muddy production does not remove the emotion from music whatsoever.
